Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami’s upcoming remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, may or may not be released in 2025, but launching a collection of Funko Pops is usually a good sign. The wave of Metal Gear Solid Funko Pops includes Naked Snake and The Boss, and they’re expected to ship in March, but you can get you’re pre-order in starting today. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater News

PlayStation had stated that the new remake would release in 2024, though developer Konami never confirmed this info. Now, with fans feeling as antsy as ever, it was implied that the game could be getting a 2025 release, though that hasn’t been confirmed either.

Many Japanese developers, including Atlus and Konami, sat down with the online publication 4Gamer to discuss some of their upcoming projects. In the interview, one of Konami’s main producers and designers, Noriaki Okamura, stated, “Our top priority is to deliver a polished and high-quality Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater to our fans.” Okamura had previously stated back in September 2024 that the game was ready to play from start to finish, and although this doesn’t guarantee a 2025 release, it does feel pretty likely. As stated above, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Naturally, fans are wondering how faithful the new version will be to the original game. But for now, it does seem like the developers have stayed true to the OG. Attentive fans have even spotted the same loading screens from the original title and returning voice actors have even been confirmed. Hopefully these are great signs that the fans will get just what they’re hoping for.

Back in May of last year, Todd McFarlane, the comic creator, president of Image Comics and CEO of Mcfarlane Toys, exclusively told Comicbook about the launching of this new line. McFarlane had the following to say to ComicBook about the future of the lineup:

“Well, you know, I sort of got a soft spot for some of the guys I grew up with,” McFarlane said. “I’m gonna do a tip of the hat in the first series to Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld because I thought that during that whole era where we came along, we sort of each made our mark in different ways that were there.”

“Eventually, I’d like to tip my hat to some of the people that inspired me a ton, George Perez and John Byrne,” McFarlane said. “But I also know that there’s a whole generation that have come in who those aren’t the guys they grew up with, right? It’s more of people that they’re looking at right now. And whether it’s the interior artist and, or the cover artist, I’ll be sort of looking at what they’re asking for and giving them that.”

Transformers: Reactivate Cancelled

After years in development, Splash Damage recently shared via social media that its work on Transformers: Reactivate would end prematurely. Unfortunately, this also means that employees are “at risk of redundancy”. Splash Damage went on to thank Transformers IP holder Hasbro for working with the company, and hopes that they could collaborate on projects in the future:

“Today, we have some very difficult news to share,” Splash Damage wrote. “The decision has been made to end development of Transformers: Reactivate. This means we will be scaling down to refocus our efforts on other projects. Unfortunately, despite every effort, a number of roles across the studio are now potentially at risk of redundancy. This decision did not come lightly, and it is a difficult time for the studio and our people. We want to take a moment to thank the team who worked on Transformers for their dedication and passion.”

Step aside Nintendo Switch 2, the Nintendo hardware that everyone really wants is the Alarmo alarm clock. Make your mornings slightly less miserable by waking up to one of 42 scenes that deliver “immersive sounds and music” from classic Nintendo games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Ring Fit Adventure, Pikmin 4, Spatoon 3, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Plus, additional games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be added as free updates in the future.

However, the clock does more than just wake you up. It can also “add Nintendo ambiance to your living space with an hourly chime and Sleepy Sounds themed to your chosen scene”. It can even track sleep patterns, respond to gestures, and get progressively intense with wake up calls from characters like Bowser if you’re in danger of oversleeping. Intrigued? Here’s what you need to know to get your hands on one…

Nintendo’s Alarmo clock has been available to Nintendo Switch Online members for $99.99 since October. However, you’ll be able to order one without a membership in the coming weeks. Nintendo has revealed that Alarmo will be available at retailers starting in March 2025. Presumably, Amazon will be one of these retailers, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see a pre-order go up sooner rather than later. If / when that happens, you should be able to reserve one here on Amazon while supplies last – which might not be long. You should also keep tabs on the official Amazon Nintendo page in case it shows up there first.

If you can’t wait for it to show up at retail, you can get a Nintendo Switch Online membership here at Walmart and here on Amazon.

“After a few seconds, someone (or some thing!) from the scene you picked will appear,” Nintendo said about the new Alarmo clock. “Wave your hand or move your body to make the clock quieter. Depending on the title you’ve choosen, you might also hear coins or other familiar game sounds when you interact with Alarmo.”

PlayStation is starting 2025 off with an all-new collection of “Midnight Black” PS5 accessories. Sony ended 2024 with the PlayStation 30th Anniversary line, which included consoles, controllers, and other accessories that resembled the PlayStation 1’s iconic grey style. With this new ‘Midnight Black“ collection, fans might assume that PlayStation means to subconsciously remind players of the sleek look of the PS2. All of these new PS5 products will release on February 20, and preorders are expected to begin January 16 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET via PlayStation Direct and the Amazon links below. DualSense Edge (Midnight Black) – $200: The highly customizable controller looks sleek in Midnight Black. Disney’s original Mary Poppins film starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke arrived in theaters in 1964, but Disney is extending the 60th anniversary celebration with a new 17-inch doll that’s practically perfect. It’s also a very limited edition of only 4670, which means that you can expect these to end up on eBay for double the $149.99 asking price before long. As noted, Disney’s 60th Anniversary Mary Poppins doll is quite large at 17-inches tall. It’s also poseable and and includes the following costume details:

Of course, a sequel to the original film dubbed Mary Poppins Returns arrived in 2018 and enjoyed a successful run. The film is set in 1930s depression-era London (the time period of the original novels) and is drawn from the wealth of material in PL Travers’ additional seven books. In the story, Michael (Ben Whishaw) and Jane (Emily Mortimer) are now grown up, with Michael, his three children and their housekeeper, Ellen (Julie Walters), living on Cherry Tree Lane. After Michael suffers a personal loss, the enigmatic nanny Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) re-enters the lives of the Banks family, and, along with the optimistic street lamplighter Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda), uses her unique magical skills to help THE FAMILY rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives. Mary Poppins also introduces the children to a new assortment of colorful and whimsical characters, including her eccentric cousin, Topsy (Meryl Streep). You can stream the film now on Disney+.

]Just a few weeks after flopping at the box office and delivering a franchise-worst performance for Sony’s universe of Marvel characters, Kraven the Hunter is already making its way to living rooms around the country. On Monday, Sony announced the on-demand and physical releases for Kraven the Hunter, the former of which is just around the corner.

Kraven the Hunter is set to make its home debut this week, hitting on-demand platforms for purchase and rental on Tuesday, January 14th. That’s just one month after Kraven was initially released in theaters.

In addition to the on-demand digital release, Sony also announced the full physical release plans for Kraven the Hunter. The film is being released on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats on March 4th. The 4K UHD combo will also be available as a collectible steelbook.

Kraven the Hunter stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular anti-hero, who has spent decades as a villainous fixture in the world of Spider-Man. The film also stars Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, and Russell Crowe. The film is directed by Triple Frontier and A Most Violent Year filmmaker J.C. Chandor.

The official synopsis reads, “KRAVEN THE HUNTER is the action-packed, R-rated, standalone story of how one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. AARON TAYLOR-JOHNSON plays Kraven, a man whose complex relationship with his ruthless gangster father, Nikolai Kravinoff (RUSSELL CROWE), starts him down a path of vengeance with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared.”

After hitting theaters on December 13th, Kraven the Hunter struggled mightily at the box office, failing to live up to the performance of Sony’s other Marvel films. As it stands now, the film has made less than $60 million globally.

Tom Holland is a fan of Funko Pops, especially when they’re based on his Marvel hero Spider-Man. The prolific actor recently revealed how he owns every Funko Pop made from his Spider-Man, which would include the trilogy Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, as well as Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. However, as much as he loves Funko Pops, Holland admitted to having to remove them from his home since it appeared he had built a shrine to himself, which was something he hadn’t intended on doing.

“Funko Pops! I love Funko Pops,” Tom Holland told GQ Spain. $43 bucks, worth every penny. I think they’re really cool. I’ve actually collected all my Funko Pops. I kept them in my house for a long time, but then it got to the point where it looked like I had a shrine to myself, and I had to get rid of them because it was quite embarassing. They’re in cupboard, but I love them. Keep making them, because I think they’re brilliant.”

Funko Pops are small vinyl figures of pop culture characters, most notably with large heads and small bodies with black eyes. Some of the franchises featured in the Funko Pop line include Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Disney, and many more. They usually don’t cost more than $15 for one figure, and they’re fun to display on a shelf or a desk inside or outside its original packaging.

Tom Holland and Zendaya are engaged

The latest bit of news on Tom Holland is that he’s engaged to his Spider-Man co-star Zendaya. Speculation on the popular couple began at the Golden Globes when Zendaya was spotted with a diamond ring on her wedding finger. TMZ reported that Holland proposed to Zendaya within the past couple of weeks, specifically on a date between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. It’s worth noting that neither Holland or Zendaya have publicly commented on the reports of their engagement. That is also not a surprise since they’ve kept their private life out of the spotlight.

Tom Holland is suiting up as the web-slinger for Spider-Man 4, which has an official release date of July 24, 2026. The July 24, 2026 date is only seven days after a new untitled movie from director Christopher Nolan, which coincidentally will also star Tom Holland after he was added to the project. How Holland will handle juggle Spider-Man 4 and his Christopher Nolan movie filming in the same year remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say the webslinger will be a busy man in 2025.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton is helming the currently untitled Spider-Man 4. A new rumor states some Marvel villains were scrapped from the sequel after some script rewrites, including Scorpion and Shocker.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S has received its biggest discount since release, and is consequently the cheapest it has ever been since release on these platforms. The game has notably been one dollar cheaper before, but this was only digitally and only on Steam. The new deals are for physical copies on PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X, and courtesy of 43% percent discounts from both Amazon and Best Buy.

And despite years of anticipation it ended up being a commercial flop for the pair, which may explain why it’s been aggressively discounted so far, and is already almost half off a little over two months later.

Critically, the game did alright registering Metacritic scores ranging from 76 to 85, depending on the platform. However, it was unable to pair this with commercial success. More than this, it got engulfed in the ongoing culture war in gaming, which no doubt had a negative impact on the RPG. That said, those that haven’t purchase the RPG yet but are interested in checking it out, can grab it for only $39.99 on Amazon and $39.99 on Best Buy.

Of course, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is going to dip lower than this as the year progresses, but this may be the cheapest it will be for a while. It has already been on sale a few times so far in 2024, but the discounts have been lighter than this, and they probably won’t be deeper than this for at least a few months. Perhaps closer to the end of the fiscal quarter, at the end of March, it will get another larger discount, but there is no guarantee of this.

An Elden Ring spin-off game is currently accepting sign-ups for its play tests. Elden Ring Nightreign is an online co-op game that allows players to fight new and old enemies from the Elden Ring universe together. Players get to choose between 8 different playable character types with unique and special abilities. The playtest sessions will start on February 14th and run until February 16th with three-hour windows open on each day. Unfortunately for any PC players, these playtests will only be available to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users. So any PC players or players on previous generation systems will have to wait until the game officially releases to try it out. What is Elden Ring Nightreign?

The 3-player co-op Elden Ring game is a stand-alone entry into the universe, unlike Shadow of the Erdtree. Read below for the official synopsis.

ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN will be a multiplayer-focused return to Roundtable Hold, set in a universe parallel to the events of ELDEN RING. New Army of Darkness Funko Pops

The latest release in Funko’s Evil Dead lineup includes Ash and Evil Ash, looking accurate to their portrayals in the movie. The Ash Williams Pop is decked out in his S-mart uniform complete with metal hand and “boomstick” from the final sequence in the film. Ash’s demonic doppleganger is also present in this drop, looking particularly evil with his iconic skull cap on his head.

The Pokemon Trading Card Game is looking to bring back a few card options from its early days… one of those being the Trainer’s Pokemon card. Starting in 2025, the Trainer’s Pokemon card will focus on Pokemon of popular trainers in the anime. Marnie, Lillie, and N were all shown in a trailer for the Trainer’s Pokemon card, along with a tease for the return of Team Rocket.

Typically, Trainer’s Pokemon had specific uses and abilities that matched with either their paired Trainer cards or Stadium cards. Although Owner’s Pokemon have periodically appeared as promo cards, none have been regularly released since the XY version of the game. It’s cool to see previous gimmick’s of the game make a return, especially when it ties into other details of the franchise. We’ll be excited to see if fans appreciate a new card in the mix.

The Pokemon Company has also officially announced that the new app, Pokemon Trading Card Game: Pocket, would be released on October 30th. The app features new digital-only cards and a simplified ruleset for the Pokemon Trading Card Game, likely to emphasize quick play. Hopefully by introducing a simpler version, new fans will latch onto the game and find fun the way we have with our favorite pocket monsters.

Back in 2019, David Lynch and Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks television series got a massive, 21-disc Blu-ray box set in celebration of its 30th anniversary. The Twin Peaks: From Z to A box set included the entire Twin Peaks saga along with six hours of new special features and a 4K Ultra HD disc that includes the original pilot and the extremely memorable Part 8 of The Return entitled “Gotta Light?” Only 25,000 were produced and, despite the $139.99 price tag, sold out. Fortunately, if you missed that release we have some very good (and much more affordable) news.

A repackaged version of the Twin Peaks: From Z to A Blu-ray box set is now available to pre-order here on Amazon for only $55.29 (21% off) with a release date set for February 3rd. David Lynch Has No Plans To Retire Despite Emphysema Diagnosis

In August of last year, David Lynch revealed that he can no longer direct in in person and is essentially homebound after his emphysema diagnosis. However, fans shouldn’t worry as he vows to “never retire”:

“Yes, I have emphysema from my many years of smoking,” Lynch wrote. “I have to say that I enjoyed smoking very much, and I do love tobacco – the smell of it, lighting cigarettes on fire, smoking them – but there is a price to pay for this enjoyment, and the price for me is emphysema,” Lynch writes in his full statement today. I have now quit smoking for over two years. Recently I had many tests and the good news is that I am in excellent shape except for emphysema. I am filled with happiness, and I will never retire. I want you all to know that I really appreciate your concern.”

Conjuring Creator James Wan Loves Night of the Creeps

James Wan, the creator of Insidious, The Conjuring, and Malignant recently revealed that he’d love to revive a few 80s camp horror films. James Wan spoke with /Film and said, “I have many horror films that I think that are just fun that I love, and I’m pretty sure the horror community shares them with me. I love movies like Chopping Mall. I love Night of the Creeps. These, to me, are just sort of fun horror films that I would love to be able to dive into one day, or do them but with the way that I make my films.”

With Wan having been in the Producer seat recently, maybe it’ll be more likely he can bring us some modern remakes of these silly cult classics. Maybe a tv show version like I Know What You Did Last Summer? Only time will tell!

The fast-dealing property training game Monopoly is starting to feel its 90 years, so it’s getting a bit of a refresh to keep up with all of the younger board games out there. Hasbro has announced an updated version of the classic board game as well as new expansion packs that add new twists to the classic game. Let’s break it down.

The new Monopoly will release on February 10th and will include a more compact and streamlined box, a new tray to keep the bank organized, larger tokens, updated money designs, and other touches that will give the game a modern, higher quality look an feel. There will be three expansion packs: Go to Jail, Free Parking Jackpot, and Buy Everything. As you’ll see in the following list, these expansion packs will add new gameplay options that put fun twists on the old rules:

While Monopoly has many different versions for many different IPs (I myself own Dragon Ball Z Monopoly), updates to the game have been sparse over the many years. The partnership between Nintendo and LEGO continues to provide sets that appeal to fans both old and young alike. We already got some new Mario Kart and Animal Crossing sets to start off the year, and now we know a big one that will be coming out in October. Nintendo has released a brief teaser trailer for a LEGO take on the original Game Boy, but no images of the finished set have been provided. Instead, we got a look at the buttons and D-pad, and not much else. Unfortunately, it isn’t a whole lot to go on, but it’s possible we could learn more from the two companies in the near future (or from leakers).

While a lot of Nintendo fans have already shared their enthusiasm for the new set, many have replied to today’s news with frustration. This is the second announcement Nintendo has made today, and neither of them had anything to do with the company’s new console, tentatively named “Nintendo Switch 2.” Fans know that an announcement will happen at some point before the end of March, and everyone is clearly ready for it to happen. Nintendo doesn’t seem ready just yet though, which means we’re going to see some other announcements in the meantime! The teaser trailer for the LEGO Game Boy set can be found in the Instagram post embedded below.

This is actually the second LEGO set based on a Nintendo system. A set based on the original Nintendo Entertainment System was released back in 2020, and featured a “playable” copy of the original Super Mario Bros. game. At this time, we don’t know if the LEGO Game Boy will similarly feature a playable cartridge, but there are plenty of games that would be a good fit. Pokemon Red and Blue would be the most logical choice, given their association with the system. However, that might be difficult given The Pokemon Company’s licensing deals with Mega Bloks. Tetris would also be a smart fit, but that could also result in some licensing headaches, since Nintendo doesn’t own the game.

If the LEGO Game Boy really is going to feature a cartridge of its own, it’s possible we could see one of the Super Mario Land games. The first one isn’t very well-regarded, but Super Mario Land 2 would be a wise choice. It’s also possible that we could see The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. There has only been one Zelda set released by LEGO so far, so the Game Boy set would be a smart way to further use the license. Of course, it’s entirely possible that LEGO could make a set with multiple cartridge build options, just as the LEGO Zelda set had designs based on Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild, depending on the builder’s preference.

Given the sheer size and quality of the Game Boy library, there are a lot of great things that can be done with a LEGO set based on the system. We also don’t know how the screen will be handled; will it feature the olive green color from launch, black and white from the Pocket era, or color like we saw with GBC? There are a lot of unanswered questions at the moment, but hopefully the final product will be worth seeking out for Nintendo fans!

A full-size replica of the cowl worn by Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan’s 2008 film The Dark Knight is set to launch on January 9th, and everything you’ll need to get your hands on one can be found right here. Like with the ’89 Batman cowl, specialty retailers like Entertainment Earth are selling it at $149.99 or higher for some reason.

ORIGINAL: Look for the 1:1 scale The Dark Knight Batman cowl to arrive on January 9th at 9am PT / 12pm ET here at Entertainment Earth and here on Amazon. The release follows full-scale cowl replicas inspired by Michael Keaton in the 1989 Batman film and Adam West in the 1966 tv series. Both of those cowls were priced at $99.99, so we would expect The Dark Knight version to follow suit. You can take a closer look at the cowl design below.

James Gunn Teases The DCU Batman

Batman recently made a cameo appearance in DC Studios’ animated Creature Commandos on Max, which marks the first appearance of the character in James Gunn’s DCU. He had the following to say about the reveal:

“[Batman] already exists in this universe, just like when we come to the Superman movie and we see Superman already exists and is already known by the people of Metropolis,” Gunn, who wrote all seven episodes of Creature Commandos, told Rotten Tomatoes. “We don’t need to hear the origin story again.”

“When they first gave [the episode] to me, we saw a lot more Batman,” Gunn added of the caped crusader’s shadowy cameo appearance. “I would say, ‘I’m not ready to commit to that, I’m not ready to commit to that, I’m not ready to commit to that.’ So I was like, ‘More silhouette!’ It’s a great way to show that Batman does exist.”

“This is the DCU Batman… listen, I gotta tell you, I just love Batman, I love him!” Gunn continued. “I’ve loved him since I was a little kid. He’s one of my favorite characters, I have gone on the record in the past when I was at Marvel saying, ‘My favorite character is Batman, I love him.’ We’re going to do great things with him, he’s the most popular superhero in the world and I can’t wait for people to see more of him, along with Superman and together.”

Unfortunately, director Andy Muschietti (IT, The Flash) revealed that DC Studios has hit “pause” on its development of the Batman film The Brave and the Bold, so it looks like we will have to wait a bit longer for Batman to return in live-action.

The rumors were true! LEGO has officially announced a partnership with BBC Studios that will see sets inspired by the wildly popular animated TV series Bluey come to life for young fans. Specifically, six LEGO Bluey sets are expected to launch in 2025 across the LEGO 4+ and LEGO Duplo themes. Here’s everything that we know…

At this point, LEGO has only offered a teaser of collection that hints at sets inspired by Bluey and Bingo, though the official Bluey Facebook page gave fans a good look at a LEGO build of the Long Dog Easter Egg as part of a Christmas post. Note that several Bluey-themed designs have reached the 10,000 supporter goal on LEGO Ideas, which is a clear indicator of excitement, but none have come to fruition thus far. LEGO notes that a full reveal will happen this spring, so stay tuned to our LEGO page for updates. Here’s what LEGO and the BBC had to say about the partnership:

“We are absolutely thrilled to bring together the worlds of LEGO Play and Bluey with the team at BBC Studios. It’s been a long time coming and we believe that this partnership is a match made in heaven for younger builders and families alike. A Bluey Movie Is Also On The Way

If you’re unfamiliar with Bluey, you probably don’t have kids. It’s undoubtedly the most popular children’s show on the planet, which is why a feature film was recently greenlit for 2027. Unfortunately, this news also comes with a bit of uncertainty about the future of the series beyond Season 3. Bluey creator Joe Brumm published a letter announcing that he would be leaving the series to focus on the movie:

“I always said I wouldn’t keep making the show if I thought I couldn’t make any new season as good as the last. This would have been the case for me with a potential season four, so I’ve decided to take a break from my involvement in the TV series. In the event I can’t wrap my head around doing more seasons myself, The Sign will mark my TV finale for Bluey and I wrote it as such,” Brumm wrote in the letter.

A description of the series reads: “Bluey follows a loveable, inexhaustible, Blue Heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo. Bluey uses her limitless energy to play games that unfold in unpredictable and hilarious ways, bringing her family and the whole neighborhood into her world of fun.” The show streams on Disney+ in the U.S.

Roronoa Zoro remains one of the most popular characters to spawn from the brain of One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda. Remaining one of the first members of Monkey D. Luffy’s crew, Zoro’s dream is to become the strongest swordsman in the Grand Line. Over the course of his travels, Roronoa has found himself losing his swords thanks to battles or simply finding more powerful blades during his journey. While no amount of real life training would make anime fans be able to reach the same heights as Zoro, you can get your hands on the three swords that might help the anime hero make his dreams come true.

Roronoa Zoro has had more than a few battles in recent One Piece history to sharpen his blades. Zoro’s Anime & Live-Action Journey

While Zoro might be fighting against the World Government in his latest One Piece battles in the manga, there remains one major hurdle that he must overcome before being crowned the Grand Line’s greatest swordsman. Throughout the majority of the shonen franchise, Roronoa has routinely lost when he fought against Dracule Mihawk, the man who currently holds the title that Zoro desires. Since Mihawk has joined forces with Crocodile and Buggy to form the Cross Guild, it seems that a fight between the current best swordsman in One Piece and Zoro will take place before the grand finale.

On the live-action front, Mackenyu has been hyping his upcoming action scenes for Netflix’s second season of One Piece. Considering that season two will cover storylines such as Loguetown, Drum Island, Whiskey Peak, and Little Garden, expect the swordsman to have plenty on his plate whenever the live-action anime adaptation does return.

For those of us who like to watch heroes and villains battle it out with different quirks – don’t worry. Although MHA will soon be finished, a new spin-off show is right around the corner. My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is set to make its anime debut this year, marking the first time that the My Hero Academia universe has produced a spin-off. The new series will be set 5 years before the events of the original anime, meaning this series should fill in the gaps in the original anime for some of the mainstay characters. 

While the original series had us following pro heroes who operated within the system, this new anime brings us face to face with a vigilante – ‘The Crawler’, AKA Koichi Haimawari, a young wannabe hero who tries to help his neighborhood by using his abilities without an official hero license. However, it doesn’t take long for Koichi to get wrapped up in a much larger mess than he was ready for. 

The new My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime will make its debut some time in April as part of the Spring 2025 anime schedule. Animation production will be handled by Studio Bones, just like the original My Hero Academia series.

More Squid Game Season 2 News

The actor who portrays Thanos in Squid Game season 2 has had a controversial past. Choi Seung-hyun, who once performed with the pop group BIGBANG under the pseudonym T.O.P., was actually blacklisted from the Korean entertainment industry in 2017 after being arrested for marijuana use (which is illegal in South Korea). In a recent interview with People, Squid Game series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk opened up about the actor’s courage in taking on a character who openly uses drugs even with that mark on his career.

“As you may know, the actor Seung-hyun, about nine years ago got involved in a marijuana scandal in Korea and wasn’t able to do any projects for the past nine years in Korea,” he began. “And so this is a comeback after quite a long hiatus, and particularly because he portrays a character that’s a rapper and also someone who is on drugs.”

Continuing on, Dong-hyuk revealed how he felt about the star taking on the role, “I feel that it took him a lot of guts, in a way, to portray a character, especially someone who shares a lot of similarities that are quite negative to him as a person too,” Hwang stated. “So I think it took him a lot of courage to take on that role.” And at the end of the day, the creator was satisfied with what made it to screen, “Despite the long hiatus, I have to say, as a director, he performed very impressively and I’m very satisfied with what he did with the character.”

The first Evil Dead movie was released back in 1981, and since then, numerous sequels have been released to fans’ appreciation. Back in 2023, the Evil Dead franchise returned with its fifth sequel, Evil Dead Rises. Written and directed by Lee Cronin, the film is a “twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.”

Then 2024 brought us even more Evil Dead news, as it was confirmed that a new spin-off series would be released. The new series is currently being developed by Sébastien Vaniček, director of 2023’s Infested (now streaming on AMC+), who recently posted about the new film on social media with the caption ‘2026’. Now titled Evil Dead Burns, Vaniček recently offered a brief explanation on what audiences could expect from the new addition to the franchise.  

“The first thing [Sam Raimi and his team] asked me was, ‘What would be your Evil Dead?’ And there was the word ‘your,’ so that was like, ‘Yeah, that gives me some artistic freedom,’ and I think I understood what’s Evil Dead and I was like, ‘Okay, if this is Evil Dead, I will do this and that because I want to explore this and that,’” Vaniček confirmed to ComicBook in April. “And they liked my answer and that’s why they gave me this job.” 

Now it’s just up to fans to wait and see! Hopefully this new addition keeps living up to the Evil Dead franchise’s reputation.

After two years he is finally able to track it down and then finds himself transported back to his home planet to defend it against Skeletor and his army, and to make that happen he will need become the most powerful man in the universe, He-Man. Once again, they’ve up with Entertainment Earth to bring fans an exclusive Gold Label black light version of Mr. Freeze, but this time it’s based on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s portrayal of Doctor Victor Fries in the infamous 1997 film Batman & Robin. What’s more, only 3000 will be produced. Here’s what you need to know.

If you’re hoping to “stay cool”, just like Mr. Freeze, then you can head to Entertainment Earth and pre-order this Gold Label action figure for $29.99, where it currently has an arrival estimated for April 2025 (you won’t be charged until it ships). The figure includes a freeze ray with ice effect, an exclusive card stand, and a detailed black light base with two battery-powered black lights, and an art card.

This isn’t McFarlane and Entertainment Earth’s first rodeo with a black light Mr. Freeze exclusive. Back in December 2023, McFarlane Toys launched a colorful Mr. Freeze figure that was based on the character’s first comic book appearance in The Ice Crimes of Mr. Zero (1959). That figure sold out quickly, and we expect the same to happen with the Arnold version.

It seems that Mr. Freeze and black light deco go hand-in-hand. The punny, ice-themed villain is still a fan-favorite after all these years, standing the test of time right alongside more prominent Batman villains like the Joker, Penguin, or the Riddler. For me, Mr. Freeze’s icy escapades in Batman & Robin offer up some of the best moments in a bad film, so it’s appreciated that McFarlane continues to show the character love.

WWE is starting off 2025 with the much anticipated premiere of Monday Night Raw on Netflix, and it wouldn’t be as grand an occasion without John Cena being a part of it. That said, tonight Cena stopped by for much more than just an appearance, as this is the official start of the John Cena farewell tour, and to celebrate WWE and Funko revealed a special edition Pop! that sports a shirt featuring Cena and the text “The Last Time Is Now”. Cena has been open about how he’s feeling heading into this final year, and he addressed several details about the farewell tour after his surprise appearance at Money in the Bank last year.

“This is where we give you some of the deets on the farewell tour. It’s not going to end at WrestleMania. That WrestleMania will be my last WrestleMania, but hopefully if everything goes according to plan, we’re going straight through from January to December,” Cena said. “We’re going to try and do a long list of dates, I think right now tentatively it’s hovering in the mid-30s to 40s because I’m still going to try and juggle a lot of stuff that’s going on, and that will be the end of my in-ring competition.”

“Now, part of this business plan I guess that I proposed and they accepted, thank you they, is me remaining in the WWE family in some capacity for an extended time to come. I’ve always said to the audience that the WWE is my home and I love it, and just because I physically feel I’m at my end doesn’t mean I need to distance myself from something I love,” Cena said.

“I have a passion for this business. I still watch Money in the Bank and yell at the screen and yell at the guys for what they’re doing or what they could be doing, so I still…I feel I still have some wisdom locked up here that could be of some value. I look forward to ending my participation in the ring in the best way I possibly can and being a member of the extended WWE family for quite some time to come,” Cena said.

Spider-Man’s first appearance in Marvel Comics’ Amazing Fantasy #15 was dated in August of 1962, which is why fans celebrate Spider-Man Day on August 1st. Hasbro marked the occasion in 2024 with new Marvel Legends roleplay gear inspired the appearance of Norman Osborn’s Green Goblin in the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home. From Marvel and DC to Sonic the Hedgehog and Golden Girls to Dragon Ball Super, Funko has a Pop for just about every occasion and franchise, and that is only going to continue into 2025. Plenty of new Pops are on the way throughout this year, and that’s not even counting the big exclusives at places like San Diego Comic-Con and Star Wars Celebration. That said, plenty of collectors are not necessarily focused on what’s coming down the pike, but are instead looking for that ever-elusive Pop that will complete their collection, and sometimes the biggest barrier to completing that set is price. We’ve collected some of the most valuable Funko Pops that you’ll need to complete those sets right here (via PopPriceGuide), and we’re starting things off with a trip to the world of Nickelodeon animation.

SpongeBob SquarePants
We’re starting off with a bit of a franchise crossover, and the spotlight goes to the SpongeBob Leonardo and Plankton Shredder 2-pack. This was exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con back in 2014, and is now going to cost you around $1,200 to add to your SpongeBob SquarePants collection. It’s simply one of the coolest versions of SpongeBob though, and having Plankton in full Shredder garb is the icing on the cake.

Huckleberry Hound
There are a host of Hanna Barbera characters in the Pop universe, but the one that will cost you the most to add to the collection will be the ever so delightful Huckleberry Hound. This special red edition of the character was an exclusive for 2014’s San Diego Comic-Con, and will run you around $3200 dollars to snag on eBay or through a seller on Amazon.

The Dark Knight
There actually aren’t that many Pops in the Batman The Dark Knight collection, but the eons that are available range from $15 to around $70. There is one though that is significantly pricier, and that’s the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Dark Knight Joker version of Freddy Funko. There are several Freddy Funkos at the top of the list, but this one is pretty elusive, and if you want to pick it up it will cost you around $10,000.

Toy Story
It’s always a challenge when trying to put together a collection of Pops when a two of the main characters are extremely hard to come by. Unfortunately, that’s the case with the Buzz Lightyear and Woody 2-pack, which has been vaulted and will run you $14,600 thousand at the moment. Now, the good news is that if you just need a Buzz and Woody 2-pack there’s the delightful Entertainment Expo exclusive that is only around $50, and there are a myriad of individual Buzz and Woody Pops to pick up too. If you want all of them though, this 2-pack is going to be the holy grail, and it’s going to be quite the pricey one too

Boo Berry
The General Mills cereal characters are iconic, with fans perhaps loving the mascots even more than the cereal they adorn. Funko has featured several of the General Mills mascots in their Pops line, but there is one who is the most difficult to find. That would be Mr. Boo Berry himself, but not just any ordinary Boo Berry, as this one is the special Glow in the Dark version released in 2011, and it goes for a daunting $28,500 thousand.

Iron Man
Now we are entering top two territory, and t’s courtesy of Marvel and Freddy Funko. The upper tiers of most expensive Pops are made up of many Freddy Funkos, as they tend to be the hardest to snag, and for those looking to complete a full collection of Iron Man Pops, you’ll need to tap into your inner Tony Stark and break out the cash. This special Metallic version of Iron Man was released back in 2012 and will now run you $38,660 to own.

Clockwork Orange
If you’re looking to collect all of the Clockwork Orange Pops, the good news is that there’s only two of them out in regular circulation. Granted, the Walmart masked version is more expensive than the standard version (in the $60 dollar range), but unfortunately there’s one more that raises the price substantially. That’s the Glow in the Dark chase Pop from 2012, and it goes for an astounding $48,450.

The story goes that an early try at the Clockwork Orange license was halted after some Pops were already produced. All but 24 of the were destroyed, split into 12 non-chase and 12 chase, and these were given to friends, members of the Funko Funatic forum, and Gemini Collectibles. Now the ones that are available are not only extremely rare, but also extremely expensive, so if you want all of the Clockwork Orange Pops, you’re going to have to spend a pretty penny on making it happen.

Golden Ticket
If you happen to have a Willy Wonka-focused collection or just love Pops based on iconic films, there is one Pop that currently ranks above all others on the most expensive list. The Golden Ticket 2 Pack is at the top of the list and will likely be for a very long time, as it currently goes for $163,440 thousand dollars.

As the title states, it includes a gold version of Willy Wonka and an Oompa Loompa, and there were reportedly only 10 of these made. 4 people in attendance at 2016’s San Diego Comic-Con won a set of their own through a golden ticket chocolate bar contest, and as for the other 6, they were reportedly given out to friends of the business or employees. So as you can tell, the rarity of these is locked in, and as time goes, it will likely become even more expensive to add this final item to your collection moving forward.

Silent Hill 2 Remake and a few other 2024 games have hit new low prices to kick off 2025. 2024 is officially in the history books, and it was a fairly middling year for video game releases. One of the standouts though was Silent Hill 2, a remake of the 2001 PS2 game of the same name, from Polish developer Bloober Team. Released for PS5 and PC back in October, the survival-horror game is currently cheaper on the PlayStation Store than it ever has been.

More specifically, the PS5 horror game is currently 30 percent off, which means on sale on the PlayStation Store for $48.99. The PS5 game has been cheaper than this during Black Friday, but the deals were limited to physical copies. This is the cheapest it has ever been digitally on PS5.

This is not the only noteworthy 2024 game at a new low price though. For example, EA Sports FC 25 is currently $20.99 on the Microsoft Store thanks to a 70 percent discount. This is the cheapest the game has ever been. Meanwhile, a similar price of $27.99 is available on the PlayStation Store.

Joining it is NBA 2K25 is cheaper than ever before thanks to a 60 percent discount on the Nintendo eShop that makes it $23.99. Meanwhile, it is $27.99 on the PlayStation Store.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Expansion is also cheaper than ever before thanks to a $15.99 price tag on the Nintendo eShop and a $19.99 price tag on the Xbox Store.

Other deals include: $19.99 for Hitman: Blood Money — Reprisal, $22.49 for The Talos Principle 2: Deluxe Edition, $33.74 for Enotria: The Last Song – Deluxe Edition, $8.99 for Star Trek: Legends, and various deals for Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics.

Of course, all of these deals are only available for a limited time. The Silent Hill 2 deal on the PlayStation Store is specifically only available until January 7.

As you might of noticed in the teaser trailer for James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, David Corenswet’s take on the character will sport a similar look as Christopher Reeve’s Superman, right down to the classic red trunks. Gunn was initially against including them, but Corenswet convinced him by pointing out that it might make the character more approachable to young fans. In an interview with Comicbook, Gunn noted the following:

“At the end of the day, [the debate] wasn’t that heated. It was heated for a while. I was on the ‘no trunks’ team for a long time,” Gunn said. “And [Man of Steel director] Zack [Snyder] said that when he was doing it, he tried a billion different trunk versions as we did. And I kept going back to no trunks, no trunks, no trunks. And I’m like, well, ‘Let’s just grind it out. Let’s just keep trying trunks and see what happens.’ And David [Corenswet] said something to me that really affected me.”

“We were trying on all these different versions, and we screen-tested with trunks and no trunks. And one of the things David said is that Superman wants kids to not be afraid of him. He’s an alien. He’s got these incredible powers. He shoots beams out of his eyes, can blow the truck over. He’s this incredibly powerful, could be considered scary, individual and he wants people to like him. He wants to be a symbol of hope and positivity,” Gunn said.

Paramount+’s popular animated show Star Trek: Lower Decks came to a close last month, so it’s only natural that they would waste no time in providing a physical copy of this lovely show to fans. All five seasons of Star Trek: Lower Decks are now available in a Steelbook full-series Blu-ray set that you can find here on Amazon for $58.99. If you’re just missing the final season, you can pre-order that now too for $25.99 on Amazon. While there isn’t any additional information about a release date or special features just yet, you can reserve a copy now, and when the inevitable pre-order deal kicks in you’ll automatically get the discount.

Back in April of last year, Paramount+ had confirmed that Star Trek: Lower Deck would be finished after its fifth season. Fans immediately launched into action, hoping that by“ slamming socials with praise and love for the show, a new streamer would pick it up – a strategy that had been successful with another one of Paramount+’s shows: Star Trek: Prodigy. Show creator and showrunner Mike McMahan sat down with Awards Radar to talk about the end of Star Trek: Lower Decks, and how he had hoped to continue making the show indefinitely.

“For me, it’s like, I’m greedy,” McMahan says. “I would have kept making this show forever, but getting five seasons is such a miracle. It’s insane that this show even existed. Every season I felt like it was a miracle. There are grand stories I’m telling for the characters in Lower Decks. So season five feels like an amazing sendoff. It feels like the end of a chapter, but not the end of a series. I had enough time to know that it had to be special.”

For McMahan, the show might have actually come to an end. But for fans, the adventures continue….just in a different medium. Back in 2022, Star Trek: Lower Decks had its comic book debut with a three-issue print by IDW Publishing, from writer Ryan North and artist Chris Fenoglio, which apparently did well enough for IDW to want to keep the love going. Now, the U.S.S. Cerritos crew are back with a new on-going series where the adventures won’t stop. The new series is written again by Ryan North with art by Derek Charm. While the show might be over, it’s great to know that our loveable crew will still be out there, saving the universe.

Supernatural ended its historic run on the CW back in 2020, so this November will mark 5 years since we last saw Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles together as Sam and Dean Winchester. Has enough time passed for a reboot? Padalecki thinks so. Whether it happens in a year or two is anyone’s guess, but it’s a virtual certainty that it will happen at some point. Jared Padalecki Gives His Thoughts on a Supernatural Reboot

“I will say this. I don’t want to do another 15 years of Supernatural. I don’t want to do another 5 years of Supernatural, I am dying to do a reboot of Supernatural akin to the Gilmore Girls reboot,” Padalecki said on Tommy DiDario’s I’ve Never Said This Before podcast. “Here are four one-and-a-half-hour episodes. We’ll shoot it in three months. I think Jensen [Ackles] and I both said in 2020, ‘we’d love to revisit these characters, this world. Give us five years.’ Which is next year. And I see him often. And we talk often. I think he and I are both really eager to do it. I’m certain I’ll put the flannel on again and play Sam Winchester.”

Blind boxes are the best. The experience of picking up a box and not knowing what will be inside, checking out the options on the side, deciding which one you’re going to hope for in the seconds before the box is ripped apart and a new toy or trinket within your hands. Well, for One Piece fans, these are about to get even more exciting as several new blind box collections have recently dropped at the Crunchyroll Store.

The anime website has a bunch of new collections, the stand-out being the Grand Line Collection Yuracolle Series Blind Figures which features all of the fantastically designed ships from the beloved anime. Other blind box options include a “Cats are Liquid” one, where each character is not only a cat, but is also inside a glass bowl. Fun! You can head to Crunchyroll here to see all the available options. And if you want a specific character or ship from one of these blind boxes, you’ll need to pick up a few and hope for the best.

One Piece News 

For long-time anime fans, One Piece and Dragon Ball are now legendary, sitting upon a throne in the anime world. So you can imagine how it felt to see a One Piece x Dragon Ball crossover! In a very special anime episode, the Z-Fighters met the Straw Hat Pirates in an event that had plenty to offer both Dragon Ball and One Piece fans alike. Sadly, after the passing of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama earlier this year, Eiichiro Oda was more than willing to provide his take on the Saiyan warrior in the ultimate crossover. 

For those of you who still need to take a look at the anime adaptation of the episode, don’t worry! You can watch the episode on Netflix, in both the original Japanese and the English dub. The meeting of the Straw Hats and the Saiyans takes place in the 590th episode of One Piece, titled “History’s Strongest Collaboration Vs. Glutton of The Sea”, the episode imagines that Goku and Luffy’s worlds have somehow co-existed, refraining from introducing a multiverse meeting of these universes. With these two knuckleheads together, it’s no wonder that an adventure ensues.

If you were reading fantasy and playing Dungeons & Dragons in the ’80s you undoubtedly hold Dragonlance books near and dear to your heart. That said, you will be very happy to know that Penguin Random House is set to launch a 40th anniversary, hardcover Dragonlace Chronicles collection on February 4th that takes fans back to the trilogy where it all started.

The collection will include the first three novels in the series from Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis – Dragons of Autumn Twilight (1984), Dragons of Winter Night, and Dragons of Spring Dawning (1985) – with a new foreword by Joe Manganiello. You’ll be even happier to know that pre-orders for the book are currently available here on Amazon for only $24.50 (30% off).

As you can see, the book includes a gorgeous dragon-themed cover in gold and black, though there isn’t any information at this time about what new surprises might be found inside. We’re hoping for some new artwork, but either way, this is a small price to pay to revisit the 1056 pages that launched millions of fantasy fans. The official description reads:

Topps is set to debut one of the first ever card sets that will include characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm in a single collection. That means you can pull cards inspired by Mickey Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Darth Vader in a single pack. What’s more, each card is numbered at 99 or lower, which means that they’re going to be highly collectible. Details about how you can get your hands on them can be found below.

The 2025 Topps Disney Genesis collection will include one pack per box with 5 numbered cards inside. There are 100 different cards to collect in total, with 40 designs earmarked for Marvel and 20 each for Star Wars, Pixar, and Disney. Pricing information isn’t known at this time, but you’ll be able to order your cards starting on January 1st at 9am PT / 12pm ET exclusively right here at the Topps website. Note that Topps is also planning to release the Topps Finest X-Men ’97 collection, which is a card set inspired by Season 1 of the hit Disney+ animated series. Apparently, each box will include one Refractor Parallel Card and the chance at autograph and original sketch cards. While the Tumbler 2-pack sold out pretty quickly upon release, the Amazon exclusive Camouflage Tumbler is now available at an all-time low price of $48.99, 30% down from the original price of $69.99. Just keep in mind that it’s a lightning deal that will disappear when fully claimed. Additional details are available below.

The Batman Tumbler seems relatively functional, with an opening cockpit and working rubber wheels. While the Tumbler doesn’t include a figure, it does have space for two 7” scale figures, so you can use any of your McFarlane 7” figures in this one. Lastly, you’ll also receive a collectible art card. If this camouflaged tumbler from The Dark Knight is something you’ve been looking to add to your collection, then now’s the time to head over. More Batman News  

Any Batman fans who were paying attention this holiday weekend heard the news that The Batman II was pushed back again for the second time this year, now slated for October 1, 2027. With the recent run of Max’s The Penguin, the interest in Batman II had probably been at its highest since the release of the first film in 2022. While fans were obviously bummed that an entire year had been added to the wait time, DC Studio’s new CEO James Gunn ran to X to clear the air. 

“To be fair, a 5 year gap or more is fairly common in sequels,” he wrote. “7 years between Alien and Aliens. 14 years between Incredibles. 7 years between the first two Terminators. 13 years between Avatars. 36 years between Top Guns. And, of course, 6 years between Guardians Vol 2 and Vol 3,” he said.

“The only reason for the delay is there isn’t a full script (those of you who follow me here probably know that already),” he posted. “Matt is committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write. Once there is a finished script, there is around two years for pre-production, shooting and post-production on big films.” The film was pushed back for the script last time as well. 

Obviously a push-back like this is disappointing, but so far, I put my trust into Gunn and Reeves to bring us another fantastic Batman tale. Hopefully we won’t be disappointed.

More One Piece News

Fans of the original One Piece anime and manga know how fantastic it is, and anyone who just started watching the new Netflix One Piece live-action is just getting a taste so far of what the entire story holds. Luckily for those fans, the second season should be coming soon, as just a few days ago it was announced that filming on the second season had just wrapped.

The season had been filming in Cape Town, South Africa, where immediately the Wrap-Up Party took place. Natalie Walsh, a stuntwoman and actress from Cape Town, shared a photo on her instagram story shouting out the successful shoot and the wrap-up party itself, captioning it with “Wrap party vibes let’s gooooo.” Unfortunately, this is as much as we know so far, as no official announcement has been made. Filming officially began in June 2024, and was expected to finish in December already. So it seems everything is on track, which means the Season 2 release slated for late 2025 is probably right on track as well.

Christmas may be over, but the holiday season is still in swing and so are GameStop’s holiday deals. While more stores close down, GameStop has some big discounts on a wide range of Nintendo Switch games, PS4 and PS5 games, and Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S games. It even has deals on games from older console generations, such as Xbox 360 games.

To this end, it currently has two popular Xbox 360 games on sale for just $1.99 each and another two for $2.99 each. Combine this with its buy two get one free pre-owned sale, and Xbox fans can nab three Xbox 360 games for just $4, paying essentially $1.33 per game.

How long the Xbox 360 games in question will be this price, and how long the buy two get one free sale will be live, is unclear. Right now though, Xbox fans can grab Battlefield 4 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on Xbox 360 for $1.99 each. Meanwhile, coupling this Borderlands 2 on Xbox 360 is $2.99 on GameStop, as is Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.

Unfortunately, there is no option for brand new copies, not at these prices. Further, the buy two get one free sale is limited to pre-owned copies. That said, with GameStop there is a guarantee pre-owned games work just like brand new copies or your money back.

Monster Hunter Rise and the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak DLC are some of the most highly acclaimed entries in the series. This is especially impressive considering the praise and reception of Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter World Iceborne DLC. Monster Hunter Rise has been around since 2022 and its DLC was released shortly after and has consistently gone on sale. Newcomers to the series would be wise to pick up this entry in the Monster Hunter series, especially before the release of Monster Hunter Wilds. Anyone who has yet to pull the trigger is in luck, as Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak is heavily discounted right now.

While Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak was initially released as an exclusive for Nintendo Switch, both have since been released on Steam. Fortunately, players on Nintendo Switch can pick up Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak for the low price of $14.99, while Steam players can grab the game and DLC for $12.59 if they go through Fanatical. Otherwise, the Steam edition is on sale for $14.99 as well. These sales end January 1, 2025, making the perfect holiday gift or a great entry point into the series in preparation for Monster Hunter Wilds.

Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak bundle is typically $59.99 with a deluxe version being available for $69.99. The ongoing sale is a phenomenal deal and likely will be one of the lowest prices for a long time. The Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak bundle has gone on sale for $19.99 fairly often, but hardly as low as $14.99.

Dedicated players should have enough time to complete Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak before the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, though Nintendo Switch players will have to go to another platform, as a Switch release of Monster Hunter Wilds does not appear to be happening. Capcom has released what fans can expect for Monster Hunter Wilds on other platforms though.

However, those who simply want to jump into the Monster Hunter series will be right at home with Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak. Each Monster Hunter game is a standalone entry and is not needed to play other Monster Hunter games. This means players can enjoy Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak regardless of whether they have played previous entries or intend to play Monster Hunter Wilds.

The Monster Hunter series is well-known and one of the best for taking on giant monsters, crafting gear, and playing with friends. It’s had multiple entries and a new Monster Hunter Outlanders is set to join the series on mobile, though no release date has been given. Monster Hunter Rise introduced the Wirebug, a new tool that grants players increased mobility.

Players have until January 1, 2025, to grab this incredible deal on Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak. There is no telling when another deal this good will be available on Steam or the Nintendo eShop, so if there has even been a time to jump into Monster Hunter Rise it’s now. Waiting for Monster Hunter Wilds is another valid option as there is only a few short months until the latest Monster Hunter is released.

The sale includes some of this year’s best titles including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Mario and Luigi: Brothership, Sonic X Shadow Generations, Silent Hill 2, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, Helldivers 2, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Metaphor: ReFantazio Launch Edition, DRAGON BALL: Sparkling! ZERO, Diablo IV, Stellar Blade, Star Wars Outlaws, Persona 3 Reload, and just about any other major release from previous years.

As with every sale, the lowest-priced title is the free game. The best approach to get a bang for your buck is to purchase titles within a similar price range. This method could save you up to $60. If you want to save more money, those who are signed up for the GameStop Pros plan can save up to $25 when they buy over $250 in-store or online. With these titles, the company doesn’t mention if the Buy 2, Get 1 Free deal extends to in-store purchases.

While this sale has officially kicked off, GameStop doesn’t note how long these deals is going to last. Since the holiday season continues until the New Year, it would be plausible to expect these deals to extend until then. With that being said, the best option would be to take advantage of the sale while it is still on. The Black Friday sale lasted until after Cyber Monday, which gave gamers an entire weekend to decide on what titles to purchase.

The Buy 2, Get 1 Free deal also applies to older titles for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox, and Nintendo Wii users. These games include WWE 2K24, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Red Dead Redemption 2, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, and Dark Souls II, just to name a few. Some of these titles are on sale on the latest consoles, but for those who are still playing on the earlier ones, you are looking to score a better deal in terms of price range, since the titles are on the cheaper side.

GameStop is the only retailer committing to this type of sale, and with some of the best PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S games on the list, the choice seems simple.
