Jujutsu Kaisen might have come to an end last year, but the creator behind it all is still showing Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, and Sukuna love with some special sketches. Jujutsu Kaisen surprisingly ended its run with Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine last year as fans had seen how the Shinjuku Showdown against Sukuna came to an end. Then with the release of the final two volumes of the series later in December, Jujutsu Kaisen returned with a special new epilogue set after the finale’s events. But even with all of this being wrapped up and all coming to an end, the creator behind it all is still looking back on it fondly.

Jujutsu Kaisen series creator Gege Akutami has shared some special new sketches for Gojo, Yuji, and Sukuna (as spotted by @Go_Jover on X), and they give fans one last look at each of these characters after the series has come to an end. While Jujutsu Kaisen might have a bright anime future ahead of it, new sketches from the creator will be the only fresh way that we’ll be able to see these characters in manga form heading into the future.

Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Brings Back Gojo & Sukuna

While it hasn’t been that long since Jujutsu Kaisen fans got to see Yuji and Sukuna since the manga series came to an end, it’s been much longer since fans got to see Gojo in action. Gojo might have been a prominent figure early on in the series as a mentor to help guide Yuji into the wild world of Jujutsu Sorcery, it’s a much different case later as Gojo takes a step back for a majority of the final few arcs as Yuji and the other surviving fighters need to step up in order to compensate for Gojo’s absence.

Then when Gojo finally makes his return to the series, it’s not for a long time. Fans get to see how Gojo’s power stacks up against Sukuna, and it’s the first real example of what the both of them can do when going up against an opponent who can match each others’ strength and abilities. But it’s also the last example fans get to see either as it’s not long after that the series was revealed to be in the midst of its final arc and speeding towards the grand finale for everything overall.

What’s Next for Jujutsu Kaisen?

Jujutsu Kaisen might have come to an end last year, but it’s far from the end for the anime. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 was announced to be in the works shortly after the second season came to an end, but it has yet to be revealed when fans can expect to see the new episodes in action. There are all sorts of mysteries surrounding the production for this new season as well as it’s currently unclear as to whether or not Studio MAPPA will be returning for this new season (along with the members of the staff seen in the second season).

What has been revealed, however, is the fact that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will begin with its adaptation of the Culling Game arc from Gege Akutami’s original manga series. This picks up immediately after the events of the Shibuya Incident as Yuji now needs to enter a deadly tournament filled with not only brand new Cursed Spirits, but also a bunch of sorcerers from the Heian era that have been revived in new bodies. It’s stacked to the brim with action, so fans are going to want to see what happens next.

Jujutsu Kaisen came to an end last year, and a special epilogue chapter released after the grand finale revealed who took over Satoru Gojo’s clan years later after his death. Jujutsu Kaisen really shook up with each new arc of the series. Beginning with the Shibuya Incident arc, series creator Gege Akutami made it clear to fans that no character was ever going to be truly safe. It’s something each of the Jujutsu Sorcerers knew themselves as they all knew that they were basically marked for death with each fight against the Cursed Spirits. But even with all of that knowledge, some of those deaths were still a surprise.

The biggest of these was undoubtedly Satoru Gojo. The massively popular character lost his life in the final fight against Sukuna during the Shinjuku Showdown, and kicked off a much larger fight that eventually led to the series’ grand finale overall. It was a death that fans refused to accept for months after it happened, and hoped it would be overturned in a future chapter. But, it never happened. As life goes on in Jujutsu Kaisen’s epilogue chapter released with the final volume of the manga in Japan, it’s revealed that Yuta Okkotsu took Satoru’s place as the acting head of the clan.

Shueisha

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Epilogue Introduces a New Timeskip

Jujutsu Kaisen’s final volume includes a brand new epilogue chapter following the events of the main series, and with it focuses on a few select characters at different times. There’s a flashback to Sukuna’s past, a revisiting of Yuji Itadori seemingly immediately after all of the fights went down, and a look years into the future. It’s this time skip that reveals what happened to the Gojo Clan following his death. Yuta’s grandchildren are seen going through storage, and even happen across Panda, who’s basically lost most of his functionality following the fight against Hajime Kashimo.

Through this scene, it’s explained that Yuta has become the new acting head of the Gojo clan following his death. While it’s not revealed who he ends up having children with after the end of the series, it’s explained that all those years later that Yuta has truly fulfilled Gojo’s wishes and took over protecting the clan for the future. Gojo had always relied on Yuta as someone who could swoop in whenever he wasn’t around because of his overwhelming strength, and Yuta made good on that promise years later.

Toho Animation

Yuta Really Gets The Best Ending in Jujutsu Kaisen

Yuta really does end up with the best fate even years after Jujutsu Kaisen came to an end. Although he had taken the biggest gamble in the fight against Sukuna with swapping his brain to use Gojo’s body and techniques, he was able to fully recover and return to his own body seemingly without major issues. Not only does he live on to takeover for Gojo, marking him as the Gojo successor that Satoru pegged him as way back in the events of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, but he has a happy ending.

Jujutsu Sorcerers rarely get happy lives after their time fighting is done, but Yuta goes on to have kids (with Maki Zenin potentially being the mother of those children) and those kids get to have kids of their own. It’s years of peace after the events of those series, and it showcases that everything Gojo and the others had done during the series actually made a difference. So while they might not won their particular battles, it’s clear that the characters won the war in the longterm.

Jujutsu Kaisen officially returned for a special new chapter taking place after the end of the original series, and a far off into the future time skip revealed that one of the Jujutsu Sorcerers has a terrible and lonely fate. Jujutsu Kaisen officially wrapped up its run with Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in Fall 2024, but series creator Gege Akutami added something special to the final volume of the series. With the final volume of the manga hitting shelves in Japan last December, fans got to see a brand new chapter revealing more of what happened to the characters after the original ending.

While Jujutsu Kaisen‘s original ending left quite a lot on the table in terms of questions fleshing out the rest of the world, there were also questions about what the characters themselves would be up to in the future. With this new epilogue, it’s revealed that two of the characters ended up getting together and having a family. But while they are happy, Panda has one of the worst fates imaginable as he’s doomed to continue to exist for years to come without the ability to really move or speak.

Shueisha

What Happened to Panda in Jujutsu Kaisen?

When we had last seen Panda in Jujutsu Kaisen, he quickly lost the fight against Hajime Kashimo. He had lost two of the cores within his body, and was thus transformed into a much smaller size. That was the last real time we had seen Panda in action with the series, but the special epilogue revealed in Jujutsu Kaisen‘s final volume revealed that he had since been put into the Gojo Clan’s storage. Years after the events of the series, Yuta Okkotsu had taken over as the new acting head of the Gojo Clan following Satoru Gojo’s death in the fight against Sukuna.

Panda had been kept in storage, and Yuta’s grandchildren happen upon him. It’s clear that while he can no longer move on his own, he’s able to speak a bit when one of the kids insults him. This darkly implies that he’s still very much aware of what’s going on around him, but is stuck in this terrible stasis because Masamichi Yaga is no longer there to perhaps help fix anything that might have been broken in that fight with Kashimo. So Panda’s just going to stay in storage, all alone for many years to come.

TOHO Animation

Is This Jujutsu Kaisen’s Worst Ending?

There have been arguably harsher fates for some characters in Jujutsu Kaisen as many of them have lost their lives in these fights, but it’s hard to imagine a future worse than for Panda. As an Abrupt-Mutation Cursed Corpse, Panda was already a unique figure within the series. It was made very clear that he had an intelligence and will of his own, and though he was created by Yaga, it never once felt like he was just a weapon. He was an important member of the wider Yuta and Yuji teams.

So to see that his future for decades to come is just to gather dust in storage while he still has the capacity to occasionally think and speak, it’s certainly a bleak and harsh fate for a character that doesn’t really deserve it. It’s just another harsh fate within this world that’s been very dark and bleak from the beginning. But for a character like Panda, it really feels like it’s rubbing salt in the wound since he’s essentially forgotten about after the rest of his friends begin to pass away.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s anime adaptation is praised for its incredible animation, thanks to the number of talents working on the project. Jujutsu Kaisen Seaosn 2 Chief Animation Director Souta Yamazaki has made significant contributions to the series, especially in the second season. He served as the Chief Animation Director for seven episodes in Season 2, specifically episodes 5, 12, 16, and 20 through 23. Apart from his direct involvement in the anime series, Yamazaki has also engaged with the Jujutsu Kaisen community through his stunning artwork. He created an illustration featuring Sukuna and Yuji to celebrate the New Year.

The animator shares a caption, “Happy New Year Picture” along with the illustration. Sukuna is in his Heian Era form, which means the illustration depicts the fight in the final JJK arc, the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. Anime-only fans may not be aware, but it includes some of the most intense fight sequences in the story. Yuji going toe-to-toe with the King of Curses is still one of the most hyped JJK moments. The manga ended its serialization in September 2024. However, the Japanese versions of the final volumes 29 and 30 were released on December 25th, 2024. While the main story is over, fans still have the exciting anime to look forward to.

What’s Next in Jujutsu Kaisen’s Anime?

The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen aired in 2023, adapting Gojo’s Past and the Shibuya Incident Arcs. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 has yet to reveal a release date or a teaser promo. The series revealed a gorgeous key visual during Jump Festa 2025. However, if it follows the manga’s storyline, it will adapt Itadori’s Extermination, Perfect Preparation, and the Culling Game Arc before the events depicted in Yamazaki’s illustration. The season will feature the aftermath of the brutal Shibuya Incident. We will also learn Yuta Okkotsu’s plans since he’s ready to kill Yuji because of the elders’ orders. Yuta also expresses his anger towards Yuji, who’s responsible for Toge Inumaki’s injury.

Gojo has been declared a traitor, and anyone seeking to free him will be an enemy of the Jujustu world. However, that won’t stop Gojo’s students from trying to help their sensei. The Culling Game is a battle royale orchestrated by Kenjaku, the ancient curse user who has occupied Geto’s corpse. JJK will introduce an exciting slate of new characters in the upcoming season. Furthermore, we will also find out what Sukuna plans to do with Megumi Fushiguro. Culling Game is the second final arc of the series, and the story will move on to the Shinjuku Showdown Arc after it.

After a glorious six-year-long run in Shonen Jump and 271 chapters, Jujutsu Kaisen concluded its story back in September, with its final volume being released in Japan on December 25th, 2024. Besides concluding the epic saga, the final volume also surprised fans with a new, never-before-seen epilogue, which finally gives Yuji the happy ending he deserves.

Much like the majority of shonen manga, Jujutsu Kaisen has largely avoided romance in favor of its fast-paced, action-driven story, often sidelining excellent potential love interests like Yuko Ozawa in the process. That said, Jujutsu Kaisen‘s new epilogue finally brings Ozawa back in the cutest possible way, reuniting her with Yuji through a chance encounter that suggests the two may have ended up together after all.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Final Volume Dials Up the Romance Between Yuji and Ozawa

The epilogue in Volume 30 of Jujutsu Kaisen sees Ozawa run into Yuji by chance on a visit to Sendai, their hometown. The scene first begins with a flashback of Yuji and Ozawa from when they were still in high school wherein the two can be seen talking about the snow. Yuji reveals he loves the snow because it still feels special, unlike other things such as fireworks and the ocean, which gradually lose their charm as one grows up, with Ozawa timidly agreeing with Yuji.

Cut to the present, Ozawa, who is back in Sendai to clean out her grandmother’s house, runs into Yuji at the station. Yuji reveals he is also back to tie up loose ends related to his grandfather’s house. Ozawa then inquires whether Yuji is doing well in Tokyo despite having already asked Nobara about him. Yuji asks about Ozawa in return, only to reveal that he, too, already asked Nobara about Ozawa’s well-being and whereabouts.

Yuji and Ozawa leave the station to find it snowing outside, which prompts Ozawa to ask whether Yuji still likes the snow, which he reveals he does. Ozawa agrees with Yuji once again, just like in the flashback, revealing that she especially likes the snow when it piles up. As Yuji smiles radiantly talking about building a snowman, Ozawa ponders on how the glistening snow reminds her of the man she loves, looking fondly at Yuji as she does so.

Meanwhile, back in Tokyo Nobara’s spidey senses hilariously start tingling, telling her that Yuji is “standing on the threshold of adulthood” likely referring to him getting into his first real romantic relationship, even if not explicitly shown.

Jujutsu Kaisen‘s Epilogue Teases Yuji and Ozawa Likely Ended Up Together

Though the chance meeting between Yuji and Ozawa by itself does not confirm that the two end up together, it does at least hint at some development in the romance department off-screen following that point, especially given that Ozawa acknowledges she loves Yuji. Granted, Yuji does not explicitly show any romantic interest in Ozawa, though the fact that he asked Nobara about Ozawa proves that he does care about her to some extent.

Judging by Nobara’s fourth-wall-breaking reaction at the end, for now, fans can assume that Yuji and Ozawa likely ended up together eventually. Though fans have shipped Yuji with many characters, including Nobara, Yuko Ozawa’s history with Yuji arguably makes her one of the best possible love interests for Yuji despite her scarce appearances, and Jujutsu Kaisen‘s epilogue has finally given fans some closure on their budding relationship. If anything, the epilogue confirms Yuji is the happiest he’s ever been, and that by itself is enough to count as a happy ending.

Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade shares a New Year’s promo featuring Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo. The four of them visit a shrine, and we see Gojo smiling at his students who are praying for the coming year. It’s a common tradition in Japan to visit the shrine and pray for good fortune and prosperity in the year ahead and to mark a fresh start. People usually visit with their friends and family, and Gojo taking them out on New Year’s depicts how much he cares about his students. While the illustration isn’t canon, fans love it all the same.

Jujutsu Kaisen had its most successful year in 2024 with the manga ending and the second season of the anime adaptation. Not only did Season 2 cross several records and win the Crunchyroll Awards in several categories, but the manga was announced to have over 100 million copies in circulation. Volumes 29 and 30 of the manga were released on Christmas, and they include several illustrations. The final volume even includes a 16-page epilogue centering around Nobara, Yuko, Panda, and Uraume. While JJK doesn’t have anything planned for 2025 so far, fans are eagerly awaiting the third season of the anime. It will adapt the Itadori Extermination, Perfect Preparation, and the Culling Game Arcs.

What is the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade Game?

Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade is the first officially licensed mobile game based on Gege Akutami’s popular manga Jujutsu Kaisen. It was developed by Sumzap as a free-to-play role-playing title that is available on both Android and iOS platforms. It was released in Japan on November 21st, 2023. The game took one year to be internationally available in multiple languages. On November 7th, 2024, it was finally made accessible to a wider audience. Phantom Parade closely follows the original storyline, including full-voiced scenes and battles, allowing the players to use Cursed Techniques.

Apart from the main story, the game also introduces original characters from the Fukuoka branch of Tokyo Jujutsu High, such as first-year students Saki and Kaito, and the principal Kensuke. This offers players new perspectives and challenges within the Jujutsu Kaisen universe. Phantom Parade often shares new illustrations in anime style for promotions or celebrating events. These artworks add to the festive vibe and encourage players to log in or participate in time-limited content. The official account of the game shared the illustration with an announcement that the players will be awarded 3000 Cubes to celebrate the New Year.

Weilin Zhang is a popular animator known for his works in Jujutsu Kaisen, Heavenly Delusion, Mob Psycho, Rising of the Shield Hero, and more. As a rising star in the anime industry, he has several credited and non-credited works under his belt. His work in Jujutsu Kaisen has been widely praised among fans. JJK is one of the most popular anime and manga series in recent times. The manga concluded in September 2024 and the Japanese version of Volumes 29 and 30 were released in December 2024. However, the anime is far from over as fans await a third season.

Season 2 included a lot of extra materials that provided an in-depth understanding of the fights during the Shibuya Incident Arc. It’s by far the most intense JJK arc in the anime series. The story gets darker from here on out. Although it’s currently unknown if Zhang is working on JJK Season 3, he has recently announced his first step in the manga world with an Indie series set to release in 2025. The announcement was made on his official X account on December 29th, 2024. Back in 2020, he shared a short manga on X, with only illustrations and no text. However, this time, he’s blending the animation and manga panels to create a unique experience for fans. The project will be independent as he will self-publish it.

Weilin Zhang Shares Information About His Upcoming Project in 2025

Weilin Zhang shares on X, “I’m making an indie manga, “I’ll of you!”, in 2025. The ending of the story will be a superpower action animation indie film. This is the main character, Clair. Stay tuned and look forward to the release sometime February-March.”

He further adds, “I will draw the manga “I’ll Be With You!” and self-publish it by the end of 2025. I plan to turn the climax of this story into an independent action anime. This girl is the main character, “Clair.” The series will begin in February or March 2025.”

Zhang also shares a gorgeous black and white animated gif that teases the art of his upcoming work. It’s possible that the girl in the gif is the protagonist of the manga, Clair. The plot and more information about the story haven’t been revealed yet, but the animator will likely share more information in February, just before the official release. The animation part will only serve as the conclusion to its story.

Jujutsu Kaisen Satoru Gojo

While the Jujutsu Kaisen manga’s ending was indeed controversial, fans won’t accept someone else creating an alternate version for them. On October 12, 2024, a new account on X, @jujutsunokaisen announced that they will be creating a new ending for Jujutsu Kaisen starting from Chapter 236. Countless fans have been unhappy over Gojo’s death, but the manga handled it quite splendidly. From Gojo’s meeting with the others at the airport to Sukuna finally acknowledging his opponent, Chapter 236 is praised as one of the best-written JJK chapters. Even so, not all fans will always be happy about any series, and Jujutsu Kaisen is no different.

Most of the dissatisfaction with the series comes from Satoru Gojo’s death. One reader even decided to give others an alternate ending while claiming they’re doing it for those who are unsatisfied. The project is known as Jujutsu no Kaisen and it already has a website and accounts on social media. The unofficial chapter was released on January 1st, 2025, and fans are unhappy with the project. Some even consider it as a disrespect to Gege Akutami’s hard work. Meanwhile many are even enraged with the use of AI and the artist tracing fanarts and official JJK and One Punch Man chapters.

Jujutsu no Kaisen Faces Tracing and AI Art Allegations

The website has only released one chapter so far. Gojo meets others at the airport, this time they decide to include Yuki and Ichiji. However, Ichiji is alive in the manga. After that, the chapter more or less follows the original story route with several dialogue changes. However, the pacing is much faster than in the original manga. So far, the unofficial version hasn’t made any significant changes other than Sukuna’s mouth on his stomach appearing even though he hasn’t assumed his Heian Era form. Jujutsu no Kaisen will be releasing another part quite soon, but haven’t confirmed the release date.

Popular anime YouTuber @ChibiReviews shares on X, “So that Jujutsu Kaisen fan ending got caught tracing not just from the original manga, but from Fan Artists and One Punch Man… What a way to start 2025.”

Several other fans express their anger towards Jujutsu no Kaisen. @TerravonRiegan comments, “Thank you for confirming you’re only salty because Gojo dies, which makes perfect sense in terms of narrative and power scaling, by the way, but what are you going to know about writing anything.”

While the outrage continues, X added a community note on Jujutsu no Kaisen’s post, “This is not official. The linked ‘ending’ is fan-made, and contains traced panels and possible AI-generated artwork. The contents of this work are not made by the original creator, Gege Akutami, nor approved by him or his co-creators.”

The situation has yet to die down as the creator of the alternate ending shares, “Your negative comments motivate me, as most works like this receive criticism in the first place. Wait for the entire chapter with edited dialogues. Always remember, never judge a book by its cover.”

Fan-made alternate endings aren’t new in the industry as Attack on Titan is already releasing one quite soon. However, the fan studio is using its own art and has put in quite a lot of effort and money. They’re also releasing it in the theatres. In contrast, JJK’s alternate ending faces all kinds of allegations. The manga ended in September 2024, and while some were unsatisfied in the beginning, many fans now understand Gege Akutami’s idea behind the conclusion.

Jujutsu Kaisen might have come to an end earlier this Fall, but a special new chapter released after the final made one fan-favorite romance an official part of the canon. Jujutsu Kaisen ended its run with Shuiesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine earlier this Fall, and with it fans saw Gege Akutami’s original manga series end while leaving some big questions on the table. But the chance to remedy this came up with the official release of the manga’s final volume in Japan this month, and Akutami returned with a brand new chapter set after the grand finale that explores the fates of a few of the characters.

With the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 30 in Japan, series creator Gege Akutami released a brand new chapter that revealed more about a few characters after the end of the series. One of these looks was a time skip that jumped several years into the future that revealed what happened to Panda after all of the fights were over, and it revealed quite a lot about Yuta Okkotsu’s future. With the debut of Okkotsu’s grand children, it’s also revealed that he actually ended up with Maki Zenin some time after Jujutsu Kaisen ended.

Jujutsu Kaisen Makes Yuta x Maki Official

As further highlighted by @okkotsuloml on X, Jujutsu Kaisen‘s new epilogue chapter reveals Yuta Okkotsu’s grandchildren years in the future. It’s not exactly made clear who the grandmother of these children are, but there are some concrete clues that Yuta and Maki ended up together. Not only do the grandchildren share close similarities with the two of them, but it’s also revealed that Yuta eventually became the new head of the Gojo clan following Satoru Gojo’s death. He’d likely need some more support from Maki in that case, and their pairing makes a lot of sense.

There wasn’t a lot of romance in Jujutsu Kaisen as Yuji Itadori and the rest of the characters were so involved in life or death stakes every arc that there wasn’t really any time to think about anything else. As Jujutsu Sorcerers their lives are incredibly short, and the dissolution of the clans was something that the end of the series seemed to queue up with Maki eliminating the rest of the Zenin Clan, and Mei Mei taking over the New Shadow Style at the end of the original series. Thus this fusion of the Gojo and Zenin clans makes for an evolution of that idea.

Shueisha

Yuta Ending Up With Maki Makes Sense

Although there wasn’t enough time for love or romance to develop in Jujutsu Kaisen, there were a few couples that fans had hoped to see end up together. Yuta and Maki was one of those pairings as the two have had a close bond since the events of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel. When they first met with one another, Maki was key in helping Yuta develop into the Special Grade Sorcerer we see in the main series later. And after Yuta returned to full time action in the series, the two went back to their now classic dynamic.

Though it’s not concretely confirmed that the two ended up together in the future, the two of them have such distinct characteristics that it’s hard to imagine someone other than a member of the Zenin clan led to a grandchild with the same kind of glare as Maki. And given that it’s just Maki and Megumi left, Yuta really could only end up with one of them to continue their respective bloodlines all those years after the original series came to an end.

With the conclusion of My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen, Weekly Shonen Jump is entering a brand-new era of serialized works showcasing the talents of shonen manga artists from across the industry. With these iconic series coming to an end, so to does age-old traditions found within the magazine. Jujutsu Kaisen joined in with breaking one of these traditions – or perhaps curses, in this case – with the release of the official epilogue.

Traditionally, when a popular shonen series comes to an end, the creator will oftentimes release a collection of epilogue chapters to tie up any loose ends left behind in a series’ final arc. Hilariously, many of these epilogues will feature the main protagonist boasting an unflattering haircut. Yuji Itadori made his final appearance in the epilogue for Jujutsu Kaisen, sporting a haircut that was surprisingly fashionable and kept Yuji’s original vibes intact.

Other Shonen Jump series, like Bleach, Naruto, and My Hero Academia, have seen their protagonists take on horrific hairstyles to send them off. Other magazines have suffered a similar plague, with fans criticizing Eren’s hairstyle when he made his final appearance in Attack on Titan. While a small nitpick of the artistry and character designs, it’s a trope that’s joked about as opposed to being a legitimate critique of the finale.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Ending Has Been Met With Harsh Critique From Longtime Fans

While Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the most profitable franchises in the anime and manga industry, many longtime fans of the series have spoken out regarding their disappointment toward the grand finale – especially with the epilogue. Without divulging too many spoilers regarding where each of the surviving characters ends up after defeating Sukuna, fans have spoken out about how the ending felt rushed and left too many plot threads open to fan interpretation.

Namely, for many, while it was a welcome surprise to see part of the epilogue from the perspective of Maki and Yuta’s grandchildren, it also didn’t show off how any of these characters looked after recovering from everything they’d been through. Readers get an opportunity to see Nobara reunite with her mother and, of course, see Yuji finally go on what seems to be a date with Yuko.

Gege Akutami/Shueisha

Despite the pushback for the writing at the end of the series, Gege Akutami spoke fondly of his experiences during Jump Festa 2025, thanking fans for their dedication and for following the series over the years. He went on to praise the ongoing anime adaptation, stating that the director for the anime, Goshozono, had done an incredible job bringing the work to life and that he’s excited for fans to see where the Culling Games arc will take the story in the anime.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended in September 2024, after concluding the long battle against the King of Curses. The final volumes were released on December 25th, 2024, featuring several extra illustrations. Volume 30 has a 16-page epilogue focusing on Nobara Kugisaki, Yuko Ozawa, Panda, and Uraume. Each character gets a four-page epilogue centered around them. While we follow Nobara, Yuko, and Panda after the main story ends, Uraume’s epilogue is a brief Heian flashback. We witness their first meeting with Sukuna. Uraume is a minor antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen. Despite being one of the most powerful sorcerers, they never had much role in the story.

Uraume’s character is limited to being Sukuna’s loyal servant. While the manga never specifically showed their relationship, it’s clear that the two were very close. Sukuna, despite being an arrogant and prideful villain, cared for Uraume even after his death. Fans love their dynamic, and the epilogue was well-received by fans. However, the majority of the reason Uraume’s epilogue was praised is because it had Sukuna. While Sukuna is one of the most popular characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, Uraume never had enough presence to attract as many fans as the main villain. This also proves that fans would’ve loved to know more about Sukuna from the Heian Era.

Jujutsu Kaisen Sukuna Uraume

What Happens in Uraume’s Epilogue in Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 30?

We see a young Uraume lying in front of their parents’ corpses. When they were a child, Uraume had difficulty controlling their powers. They ended up freezing themself and everything around them, including their parents. This happened during the Heian Era when Sukuna was out on a stroll. He came across the gruesome scene and took Uraume with him. He realized that the child’s powers could be a great substitute for his broken icehouse (a refrigerator prototype). As the two spent more time together, Sukuna noticed Uraume’s cooking talents. Uraume was not only Sukuna’s subordinate but also his cook. It’s a well-known fact that Sukuna was a cannibal.

Hence, he asked if Uraume could cook humans, too. Sukuna said the taste depends on the person, but it’s a kind of delicacy for him. Even so, Uraume wasn’t grossed out by that fact. Instead, they asked why Sukuna wasn’t cold around them. The King of Curses asked the same question, wondering why Uraume wasn’t cold around him instead. Sukuna meant that metaphorically since everyone who saw him would freeze in fear. Hence, the strongest sorcerer in history lived in solitude before he found Uraume. The epilogue ended with Uraume holding Sukuna’s hand and walking away, just like in Chapter 271.

Shueisha

The Jujutsu Kaisen Epilogue Proves Fans Would’ve Loved Sukuna’s Heian Flashback

There are a lot of unanswered questions about the main villain of Jujutsu Kaisen. Sure, while a character’s backstory isn’t always necessary, it does satisfy the reader’s curiosity and makes them relate to the character more. Sukuna, the strongest sorcerer in history, was abandoned by his mother after birth. The story never specifically mentions the real reason, but it’s possible she abandoned him because of his appearance. Sukuna briefly mentioned that his mother was starving for too long, which is why he ate his twin inside the womb. It hints that his mother was poor, which is another possibility since she thought she couldn’t take care of him. Even his real name remains unknown, or maybe he never got any in the first place. Ryomen Sukuna is simply a title given to him because he’s the strongest.

He lived alone for years before coming across Uraume. Sukuna was an outcast in the Jujutsu world since everyone feared him. No one would dare needlessly approach him and keep their distance (except Yorozu, who died at Uraume’s hands). However, something happened in the Heian Era that made all the sorcerers gather their might to defeat one person. Sukuna died thanks to the combined efforts of the sorcerers. All this was only narrated, but we never got to experience his past. The epilogue, despite being a four-page-long story, was already interesting and even heartwarming.

Sukuna’s defeat during the Heian Era was so legendary that the tale was passed down in the Jujutsu world for over a thousand years. This just proves that a full backstory centering around Sukuna would’ve made the story much more interesting. In Chapter 271, Sukuna talked about the two choices he was given. While he said that, we see a woman and Uraume standing opposite to one another, depicting the two said choices. The identity of the woman remains unknown. She could be his mother, but it’s only a speculation without any concrete evidence.

Kenjaku Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga is praised for its thrilling battles and complex power systems. However, when it comes to the ending, let’s just say there are a few things that could’ve been better. The final arc is action-packed but lost a great opportunity to delve deeper into the lore and character conclusions. This is especially true when it comes to Kenjaku, one of the series’ major villains. He was an ancient curse user and a central character in the story. Kenjaku lived for over a millennium thanks to his cursed technique, which allowed him to switch bodies.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead for the Shinjuku Showdown Arc of Jujutsu Kaisen!

If that wasn’t enough, he had an unimaginable number of powerful cursed techniques in his arsenal, making him one of the strongest sorcerers in history. Even so, his death was nothing short of underwhelming. His comedic face-off with Fumihiko Takaba wasn’t exactly a conventional battle. However, his ending at Yuta’s hands was too quick and didn’t leave much of an impact. Thanks to Takaba’s distraction, Yuta decapitates him in Chapter 243. A brief flashback in Chapter 249 confirms his death. You’d think the story would delve deeper into that mysterious character later on, but that’s not the case. While Kenjaku passed down the responsibility of the merger to Sukuna, nothing happened later on.

Jujutsu Kaisen Kenjaku Noritoshi
MAPPA

Jujutsu Kaisen Final Volumes Neglect Kenjaku Completely

Kenjaku’s past and mystery died along with him. The manga never delved deeper into his story. Even his past as Yuji’s mother was buried. A lot of things about him are truly intriguing and mysterious, including his true appearance. Additionally, Kenjaku’s relationship with Tengen remains a mystery. They were either friends centuries ago, or perhaps they worked closely together. Either way, the manga only shows that they know each other but never explain anything.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s final volumes were the last hope fans had of finding out more about him. The volumes include extra illustrations, and Volume 30 even has a 16-page epilogue centering around Nobara Kugisaki, Yuko Ozawa, Panda, and Uraume. Unfortunately, none of them remotely mentions Kenjaku. The epilogue even has a Heian-era flashback revealing Uraume’s first meeting with Sukuna. Meanwhile, the extra illustrations feature a lot of minor characters but not Kenjaku. He remains a mystery even long after the manga’s ending. While there are several speculations, nothing is specifically confirmed.

Jujutsu Kaisen Kenjaku Prison Realm
STUDIO MAPPA

Kenjaku Had a Greater Role in Jujutsu Kaisen Than Sukuna

Kenjaku is the mastermind behind Yuji’s birth. He created Yuji for the sole purpose of being Sukuna’s vessel. In a way, Kenjaku could be considered a catalyst of the story. Kenjaku also created the Death Paintings, which later serve an important role in the story. He’s also the one who orchestrated the Shiya Incident and sealed Satoru Gojo. Things only go downhill from that point on.

And let’s not forget he’s the only reason Culling Game even began. Sukuna, despite being the primary antagonist, was a bystander for most of the story, while Kenjaku did all the work. Hence, his contribution to the story can’t be denied. Even so, he gets a confusing conclusion after being defeated without showcasing his true offensive abilities. In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270, we briefly see Takaba and someone who appears to be Kenjaku, which again raises questions. Does he really die in the end? We can’t be too sure. Hence, most of the questions about this villain remain unanswered, which is truly a wasted potential.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga released its Volumes 29 and 30 on December 25th, 2024. The manga reaches its conclusion with Sukuna’s defeat. After the brutal battle is over, the sorcerers strive to set the Jujutsu world anew. It wasn’t only Gojo’s lifelong dream but also a necessity since the corrupt elders were doing more harm than good. The manga volumes are currently available in Japanese and the English release date has yet to be announced. Both volumes include a special message from the creator. In Volume 29, Gege Akutami shares, “I came this far without knowing anything about colors.”

It’s no secret among fans that Gege is slightly colorblind. As an artist, he must have had his fair share of struggles in his career due to his color blindness. Hence, he acknowledges how far he has come despite not knowing anything about colors. Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular series of recent times. It already has 100 million copies in circulation, which is a historic milestone. In Volume 30, he leaves a final message to his fans saying, “Someday, we’ll meet again.” The message is short but it hints at the mangaka returning with new projects in the future. Since the volumes aren’t available in English, @f9x00 shares the translation of the author’s comment in both volumes.

What’s Next For Jujutsu Kaisen’s Creator Gege Akutami?

Although the mangaka hasn’t specifically confirmed his next project, he has dropped a few hints along the way he will return with a new manga in the future. Jujutsu Kaisen is Akutami’s first serialized work. Given its massive popularity, fans will surely be more interested in his upcoming series as well. In an author’s note in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 271, Gege Akutami shared, “We’ve reached the end. Thank you all for your support!! I’ll keep doing my best with my future work.”

Additionally, he attended Jump Festa 2025 where JJK anime shared its first look at Season 3. Gege again teased his upcoming manga, “Once again, I’d like to thank you for your support of Jujutsu Kaisen these seven years. I hope to pay you all back as I prepare for my next challenge.” For all we know, the author could be already planning a new manga. The Jujutsu Kaisen manga has only recently ended, and paired with Akutami’s health issues, he’s finally getting a well-deserved break. The manga even went on a hiatus after Chapter 262 since he underwent surgery to remove his appendix.

Jujutsu Kaisen Volumes 29 and 30 are available on Shueisha’s official website but they will only be shipped in Japan. However, global fans can purchase Japanese versions on an online store CDJapan, which will ship the copies online. English and other translations will take at least a few months to be globally available. While you can read all the chapters on the official app of Manga Plus, it doesn’t include the volume extra illustrations and the final epilogue. Another perk of owning a copy is to have access to extra scenes Gege added in the story and new versions of the original drawing in Chapter 262, which he couldn’t draw properly because of his health.

Jujutsu Kaisen might have released its final manga chapter earlier this year but creator Gege Akutami was more than willing to make a comeback to fill out the series finale. The mangaka didn’t just flesh out some of the futures of the supporting characters that helped fight the shonen’s biggest curses, it gave readers more time to see what future lay ahead for our three favorite sorcerers, Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara. For the star of the series, now that fighting against some of his biggest enemies is no longer a problem, Yuji’s future might be focused far more on romance.

Warning. If you don’t want Jujutsu Kaisen’s epilogue spoiled, be forewarned that we’ll be diving into serious spoiler territory. In the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen, prior to the fight against Geto and his forces in the Shibuya Incident Arc, the supernatural shonen series brought back a character that appeared to have a major fondness for the heroic protagonist. Yuko Ozawa was a former classmate to Yuji who had long spent her time admiring the better half of Sukuna from afar. While Yuko never found herself fighting alongside the potential love of her life, hope sprang eternal for Ozawa and the epilogue proves it.

Yuji x Yuko

In the series finale epilogue, Yuji and Yuko meet for one last time before the series truly does come to an end. Now that Sukuna has been defeated, the pair are able to take time with one another, marveling at the snow around them. While she doesn’t reveal her feelings to Yuji straight out, Yuko does state in no uncertain terms in her mind that she likes Itadori. Needless to say, this fact is one that will always blow the minds of Yuji’s best friends, Megumi and Nobara.

Jujutsu Kaisen might be over but the series will remain a major influence on the shonen world for years to come. Even with the manga wrapped, the anime adaptation still has some big moments to cover and, most likely, has several seasons and movies ahead of it to play catch up. Most likely, we won’t see this moment between Yuji and Yuko for years but that doesn’t mean it won’t have a serious impact on the Studio MAPPA production once it airs.

Jujutsu Kaisen Aoi Todo

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga released its Volumes 29 and 30 on December 25th, 2024. The manga stopped serializing in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2024. The story ends with Sukuna’s defeat and the sorcerers preparing to reset the broken Jujutsu world, which is just what Gojo wanted. The final volume includes a 16-page epilogue that features four extra stories centering around Nobara Kugisaki, Yuko Ozawa, Panda, and Uraume. Additionally, both volumes have several illustrations as one of them reveals the inspiration behind Todo’s vibraslap.

Aoi Todo is one of the most popular Jujutsu Kaisen characters. He debuts at the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc and quickly becomes one of Yuji’s closest allies. Todo is a powerful Grade 1 sorcerer who provides excellent support to Yuji in a battle. After the duo’s intense battle against Hanami in the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc, they reunite in Shibuya. They fight against Mahito, a more powerful opponent than Hanami. Todo loses his left hand and disappears from the story since then. He returns to readers’ delight after almost four years later to give Yuji the final push against Sukuna after Choso’s death. However, Todo returns with a strange power.

Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 29 Reveals Todo’s Vibraslap Is Inspired By a Comedian

In an extra illustration, Gege Akutami draws a popular Japanese comedian, Jun Itoda. @f9x00 shares, “The guy in Vol 29 extras is presumed to be Jun Itoda. A Japanese comedian who used vibraslap in one of his gigs. He might’ve inspired Gege to add vibra slap tech for Todo.” Itoda performs tsukkomi, a traditional style of comedy in Japanese culture, in the comedy duo Speed Wagon.

Since Todo’s cursed technique, Boogie Woogie is triggered by clapping his hands, he shouldn’t conventionally be unable to use it anymore. Since Mahito’s Idle Transfiguration technique hit him, he can’t recover his hand using Reverse Cursed Technique either. Mahito’s technique alters the shape of his target’s soul, hence RCT is useless against it. This should’ve been the end of his career as a Jujutsu sorcerer. However, he returns with a vibraslap attached to his left hand. Yuta Okkotsu helps Todo fine-tune the vibraslap, which is how the latter returns stronger than ever.

Jujutsu Kaisen Todo Yuji
MAPPA

This instrument allows him to perform approximately 50 swaps per second. Todo changed the condition for activating his cursed technique from a clap to a metal piece hitting a wooden box. He also makes a binding vow to expand the range and targets of his technique if he limits the number of swaps per strike. Todo returns in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 259 to lend Yuji a hand. After Sukuna uses his Divine Flame, Yuji is left alone on the battlefield and watches his brother, Choso, disintegrate in front of him.

Since Yuji can’t find the others, he thinks the others fell victim to Sukuna’s technique as well. Just when he’s about to drown in despair, Todo appears again to lend him the support he needs. Todo and Yuji team up one last time against the final villain. Additionally, Todo also used his Boogie Woogie to help Yuta kill Kenjaku, which is revealed in Chapter 259.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s creator, Gege Akutami, was never scared of taking some big players off the board when it came to his supernatural shonen universe. In the recent second season of the anime adaptation, the Shibuya Incident Arc saw heroes and villains alike being taken down like bowling pins in a fight for the future of Japan. Earlier this year, Akutami released the final chapter of the beloved series, but much like My Hero Academia’s Kohei Horikoshi, the mangaka isn’t finished when it comes to bringing his characters to life. In a new touching tribute, the artist has once again focused on the deceased members of Jujutsu Tech.

Warning. If you aren’t caught up with the manga and don’t want these deaths spoiled for you, be forewarned that we’ll be diving into serious spoiler territory for Jujutsu Kaisen. In the anime adaptation’s second season, we witnessed the deaths of Nanami and Mahito, with Nobara seemingly taken down as well only to reappear in the final chapters after quite some time away. Looking to outdo himself with the final battle, Akutami was more than willing to kill off major heroes like Gojo and Choso, proving that no one was safe in fighting against the supernatural threats facing Jujutsu Tech. While the final chapter of the manga was a controversial one, Gege has returned for not just new art, but also when it comes to expanding on the last installment.

RIP To The Sorcerers We Met Along The Way

To celebrate the grand finale of Jujutsu Kaisen, the shonen franchise released new newspaper ads in Japan that saw Gege Akutami revealing new art of Nanami, Choso, and Gojo respectively. In the final chapter of the manga, we don’t see any of these characters brought back from the dead but we do bare witness to the happiest ending that Yuji ITadori and his surviving friends could have hoped for. Following the defeat of Sukuna, the king of curses, the future seems bright for both Jujutsu Tech and the world.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Anime Future

While the manga might have ended in 2024, the anime adaptation still has seasons and movies to look forward to. Revealed at this year’s Jump Festa event, Jujutsu Kaisen has a new compilation film that will retell the story of Gojo and Geto’s earlier years as a part of the Hidden Inventory Arc. Alongside the film announcement, the supernatural shonen also revealed new art for its upcoming third season, which will focus heavily on the new arc known as “The Culling Game.”

When last we saw Yuji Itadori in the Shibuya Incident Arc, things only went from bad to worse thanks to Geto’s machinations. Gojo is now trapped within the Prison Realm and Jujutsu Tech wants Yuji dead thanks to the path of destruction left by Sukuna. While Yuji might be on the run, he’s going to get some unexpected help from a new ally made in season two, though the return of Yuta Okkotsu is not good news for the shonen protagonist.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended its serialization in September 2024. However, the manga volumes took a few months to be released. Shueisha has released Volumes 29 and 30 simultaneously on December 25th, 2024. Both volumes include special illustrations. Additionally, Volume 30 has a 16-page epilogue, divided into four parts, centering around Yuko Ozawa, Panda, Nobara Kugisaki, and Uraume. Not only that, but the volumes include additional scenes of Choso’s death, making it more brutal and heartbreaking than ever. Another perk of buying the manga volumes is the improved version of Chapter 262, which Gege Akutami couldn’t draw properly because of his poor health. The official account of Jujutsu Kaisen PR shares that the volumes are available for Japanese buyers on the official website of Shueisha.

Each volume is priced at 572 yen, including tax (approximately $3.63). However, global fans can also get their hands on the copies by buying them from a Japanese online store, CDJapan. The store will ship the copies internationally within two to four days. It’s currently priced at 520 yen, but tax and international shipping might include some extra charges. However, the only problem is that the copies are only available in Japanese. It will take a few more months to translate and license the latest JJK volumes before selling them in English or other languages. In the meantime, you can own the Japanese version and add it to your collection. It’s also an easy way for Japanese-speaking JJK fans living outside the country to get a look at the manga.

What Happens in Jujutsu Kaisen Volumes 29 and 30?

Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 29 includes Chapters 255 to 263. The cover art features Ryomen Sukuna in his Heian Era form. The battle against the strongest takes an unexpected turn two former enemies arrive at Shinjuku to help the sorcerers. As Sukuna shows no signs of stopping, the manga reveals how those two came at the behest of Satoru Gojo, who already had contingency plans ready in case he lost against Sukuna While the raid continues, Yuta Okkotsu, who barely survived the World Cutting Slash, makes a difficult decision that not only risks his life but also costs him his humanity.

Additionally, Volume 30 includes Chapters 264 to 271. The battle against Ryomen Sukuna is in its final stage when Yuji uses the ultimate technique in Jujutsu sorcery. He plans to show mercy to the villain but Sukuna has plans of his own. All the sorcerers are down for the count, leaving only Yuji fighting the battle alone. Surprisingly, he reunites with his two friends, who give him the final support needed to defeat Sukuna. The final volume also includes an extra epilogue. While Uraume’s story is a brief flashback from the Heian Era, the other parts follow the characters after the conclusion of the main story.

Among the extra illustrations in the final Jujutsu Kaisen volumes, one solves the biggest misunderstanding regarding Sukuna’s relationship with Yuji. Akutami confirms that Wasuke Itadori, Yuji’s grandfather is the incarnation of Sukuna’s twin brother. This means Sukuna is Yuji’s granduncle, but not uncle, as the masses believed.

SHONEN JUMP
Jujutsu Kaisen Sukuna Heian Era Form

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended in September 2024 and finally released the last two Volumes 29 and 30 on December 25th, 2024. The volumes include several extra illustrations and a 16-page epilogue centering around Nobara Kugisaki, Yuko Ozawa, Panda, and Uraume. One of the extra illustrations clears up a misunderstanding about Sukuna’s relationship with Yuji. Sukuna, despite being the primary antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, is still a mysterious character. The manga only mentions he lost due to the combined efforts of sorcerers in the Heian Era, but we never get any details about it.

The Heian Era is known as the Golden Age of Sorcery, and Sukuna stood at the pinnacle even during that time. Furthermore, we still don’t know his real name. Ryomen Sukuna is just a title given to him as the undefeated King of Curses. It could be possible that he never received one since he was an abandoned child. Sukuna was a conjoined twin, which explains his unique physical features. He ate his twin brother in his mother’s womb, and that twin wandered for centuries. Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257 reveals that there’s been a major confusion regarding Sukuna’s relationship with Yuji’s family.

jujutsu-kaisen-sukuna.png

The Final Volume’s Extra Illustration Reveals the Relationship Between Sukuna and Wasuke

The Jujutsu Kaisen illustration includes side-by-side portraits of Wasuke Itadori and Sukuna, with a note that says, “To be precise, it’s not Itadori’s dad, but his grandfather who shares the same soul. Do we look similar?” The volume is still only available in Japanese, so @f9x00 shares the illustration along with a translation on X. In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257, Sukuna narrates his origin and talks about how he ate his twin in his mother’s womb. His twin’s soul wandered around for centuries until he mated with Kenjaku, an ancient curse user who lived for over 1000 years thanks to his cursed technique. It’s almost clear from Sukuna’s words that Jin Itadori is the incarnation of his twin brother. After all, his wife Kaori Itadori was possessed by Kenjaku.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 143 features a brief flashback introducing Jin and Kaori (Kenjaku). Wasuke, Yuji’s grandfather warns Jin to give up on “that” woman or else he will die. The father and son are also aware of Kaori’s death. However, the final volume confirms that Sukuna’s relationship with Yuji has been widely misunderstood. Wasuke and Sukuna do share a bit of similarity, which has been pointed out by fans before. Wasuke’s personality of pushing people away while being alone also resonates with Sukuna. However, while the manga solves this misunderstanding, one thing is still confusing.

Shueisha/Gege Akutami

Did Jujustu Kaisen’s Final Volume Make Yuji’s Family More Complicated?

If Wasuke really is the incarnation of Sukuna’s twin brother in Jujutsu Kaisen, then what Sukuna said about his brother mating with Kenjaku makes no sense. It could be a translation error or it’s possible Sukuna misunderstood the situation. However, in Chapter 157, he’s clearly talking about Jin Itadori. Kenjaku took over Kaori’s body in order to create a perfect vessel for Sukuna and his plans worked.

Even so, the identity of Wasuke’s wife would’ve been useful at this point to resolve the confusion about the family. Wasuke clearly knew everything about what was going on. He doesn’t showcase any signs of having a cursed energy but should be aware of its existence. It’s possible he knows that an ancient curse user is possessing Kaori’s body. Unfortunately, Jujutsu Kaisen never specifically explained a lot about Wasuke so even his relationship with Kenjaku remains unknown.

Jujutsu Kaisen Gojo Satoru Juju Stroll

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga released its Volumes 29 and 30 on December 25th, 2024. The manga is currently only available in Japanese and the English release date has yet to be announced. It usually takes a few months to release the English versions, so fans will have to wait a while to buy the copies. Volume 29, titled “Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown ーLiving Deadー” includes Chapters 255 to 263. Additionally, the final Volume 30, titled “From Now On,” includes Chapters 264 to 271. It also has a special 16-page epilogue centering around Nobara Kugisaki, Yuko Ozawa, Panda, and Uraume.

Uraume’s epilogue glimpses at the Heian Era and their first meeting with the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna. Meanwhile, we follow the other three characters after the events of the main. Nobara meets her mother so she can fulfill Gojo’s last wish. Meanwhile, Panda’s epilogue is set in 2080 and shows Yuta’s grandchildren. Finally, Yuko’s epilogue reaffirms her feelings for Yuji. However, the epilogue isn’t the only special thing about the final volumes. Usually, every JJK volume has extra illustrations, and these two are no different. One of the illustrations showcases Gojo’s goofy side even after his death.

Jujutsu Kaisen Volume Extra Includes Hilarious Gojo Illustration

The illustration includes the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 cast, Satoru Gojo, Yuta Okkotsu, Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda. The students are hanging out together, and we can see Gojo from behind with abnormally long legs so he reaches to the sky. Judging by Panda’s size, it’s clear the scene in the illustration is after the conclusion of the main story. The illustration is goofy but it also has a hidden meaning. Since Gojo is reaching up to the sky, it likely depicts how he’s looking over his students even after his death. @f9x00 shares the extra illustration on X.

Instead of showing a tear-jerking perspective of Gojo’s departure in Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami decides to highlight Gojo’s goofiness that’s still intact after his death. Gojo is one of the most popular characters in recent years. Fans not only love his attractive appearance but also his immature personality. Gojo, as the strongest sorcerer in the modern era, carried a huge burden his entire life. However, outwardly, he will maintain a cheerful personality. He added the much-needed comedy moments in the show.

Jujutsu Kaisen Satoru Gojo
MAPPA

What Happens to Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Gojo dies in his battle against Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236. The battle of the strongest, which lasts for about 15 chapters, is the most popular fight of JJK. Gojo and Sukuna duel after the former is unsealed from the Prison Realm. Things turn worse after Gojo’s death as Sukuna takes on his final form, which grants him unimaginable powers. Despite the months of fan theories circulating about Gojo’s revival, the manga never specifically hinted at his return.

He also appears in the final chapter in a brief flashback as Yuji remembers his words before the battle of the strongest. Gojo will live on among his students as they strive to make the Jujutsu world a better place. The higher-ups are already dead and with Sukuna’s defeat, the sorcerers can set things right with peace of mind.

Jujutsu Kaisen released its final Volumes 29 and 30 on December 25th, 2024. The volumes are currently only available in Japanese and it will take a few months for them to be globally available in English version. The manga reached its conclusion in September 2024 with Sukuna’s defeat. The battle against the King of Curses was long and brutal, resulting in the deaths of beloved characters like Satoru Gojo and Choso. However, the sorcerers finally manage to defeat Sukuna as they keep raiding him one after another.

The manga concludes with several unanswered questions, including one about Sukuna and Uraume. They are a minor antagonist in the story who fought Kinji Hakari during the raid against Sukuna. Uraume planned to defeat Hakari and be of help to Sukuna. However, the two were at a standstill with neither side showing any signs of defeat. Sukuna and Uraume always had a special bond that goes beyond a master-servant relationship. They met during the Heian Era and we finally find out the reason behind Uraume’s blind loyalty towards Sukuna.

MAPPA

The Jujutsu Kaisen Final Epilogue Features Brief Heian Era Flashback

Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 30 includes a 16-page epilogue focusing on four characters. Uraume’s epilogue begins with Sukuna wandering about and finding a traumatized child near two dead bodies on his path. Uraume is frozen solid and reveals that everywhere around them is cold. Even their parents died because of the cold emanating from their body. Uraume is an extremely powerful sorcerer, known as the “Frozen Star.”

However, during the Heian Era, they were almost never able to control their powers. Sukuna takes Uraume with him and tells him that he accidentally broke his icehouse (a prototype refrigerator used to store ice throughout the year). He gives Uraume the task of watching over his meat so it doesn’t rot.

After all, Uraume’s powers can keep the meat fresh. Not to mention Uraume is a talented cook. Sukuna’s interest is piqued and he asks if Uraume can butcher humans. The series has often mentioned that Sukuna is a cannibal. However, Uraume is only surprised by the fact that Sukuna doesn’t get cold in their presence. The King of Curses asks the child the same question as they walk away holding hands, just like in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 271.

Jujutsu Kaisen Uraume
MAPPA

What Happens to Uraume in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Kenjaku uses a human as a vessel to revive Uraume in a similar way that Sukuna was revived with Yuji’s help. The duo reunited in Shibuya and Uraume returned to serving Sukuna. Uraume’s role in the story so far has only been as Sukuna’s ally. They tried to help the King of Curses during the raid but Kinji Hakari interfered. They both dueled through the entirety of the Sukuna raid until Uraume used their power to freeze their neck, decapitating themself.

After his death, Sukuna meets Mahito in the passageway for the circulation of souls. The final chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen shows a heartwarming scene where Sukuna is comforting a crying Uraume who is in the form of a kid. This shows that the two had a more special bond than we originally thought. In fact, Uraume even takes their own life after finding out about Sukuna’s death. Sukuna’s words and actions prove that he cares about his subordinates and moves on to the afterlife.

Jujutsu Kaisen Itadori Yuji

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga reached its conclusion in September 2024 after concluding the battle against Sukuna. The King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, is the primary antagonist of the series and he dies thanks to the combined efforts of all sorcerers. As the long-standing battle against Sukuna ends, each sorcerer strives to contribute to the reforming of the Jujutsu world. The never-ending battle against the curses will never end but with the Jujutsu world providing better education to the future sorcerers, the casualties in the future can be minimized.

However, among the sorcerers, there’s one who couldn’t join the raid against Sukuna. Panda loses two of his cores and his entire body after his fight with Kashimo. Just when Kashimo is about to blow off Panda’s head, Hakari saves him just in the nick of time. Still, Panda is now really small and unable to fight anymore. Unfortunately, without Masamichi Yaga’s help, he stays like this for a long time. He appears briefly before the battle of the strongest to cheer on Gojo. The Jujutsu Kaisen Epilogue from Volume 30 reveals his tragic fate, even though he survives the longest compared to his peers.

Jujutsu Kaisen Panda
MAPPA

The Jujutsu Kaisen Panda Epilogue Is Set in 2080

Even though Panda is the only surviving character in the future, his fate is just too tragic. He lost independent control function after the sorcery terrorism of November 2018. In October 2035, he completely stopped activity and was registered into the Gojo’s family storage. He was given away as a special cursed object and his ownership was handed over to Yuta Okkotsu, the Gojo Clan head representative. Yuta took over the Gojo Clan as an acting head after his teacher’s death.

In the year 2080, Yuta’s grandchildren went to the storage to see Panda. They say that the objects in the room are Yuta’s treasures, including Panda. Even though Panda lost all functions, he still moves every once in a while. He has his consciousness left, and even thinks Yuta’s grandchildren are really loud. Despite surviving the longest among any JJK character, Panda meets the worst fate by living a lonely existence. All his friends grow old and die while he is stored away like an object. Time stands still for him and he always stays in a tiny body looking like a plush toy.

Jujutsu Kaisen Panda
MAPPA

How Did Panda Survive For That Long?

Panda is an Abrupt Mutation Cursed Corpse created by Masamichi Yaga, the only known character who can create independent cursed corpses that produce their own cursed energy. He created Panda who was born sentient and possessed three cores. Each of his cores possesses unique traits, allowing him to switch between them and alter his physical shape at will. Even among Cursed Corpses, Panda is one of a kind. He’s only able to survive this long because he doesn’t have the body of a mortal. If Yaga was alive, he probably could’ve helped Panda get back to his previous strength after the fight with Kashimo. Sadly, Panda completely lost his function and became inactive while keeping his consciousness intact. He can continue to survive like that for decades or even centuries.

Nobara’s return in the final battle against Sukuna in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga was extremely controversial. She suffered a fatal blow during her fight with Mahito and didn’t appear in the story for four years. The manga rarely mentioned her after the tragedy; whenever it did, it hinted more towards her death. Regardless, JJK creator Gege Akutami was saving her as the final ace up the sleeve against Sukuna. Her Resonance is powerful enough to severely damage her target whenever she uses it on any of their body parts.

Hence, she points her attack towards Sukuna and injures him even more. Sukuna was already severely weakened, which could be the final nail in the coffin. After that, Yuji and Megumi deal with the villain, and the former lands the final blow while the newly rescued Megumi lends his support. After the fight ends, Nobara receives a letter from her teacher Satoru Gojo, who tracked down Nobara’s mother. It was strange that Akutami would bring up Nobara’s mother for the first time only when the manga was ending. However, it’s evident he had planned an epilogue altogether.

Nobara Meets Her Mother in the Jujutsu Kaisen Epilogue

The 16-page Jujutsu Kaisen epilogue centers around Nobara, Yuko, Panda, and Uraume, with each character’s story being covered in four pages. Nobara was extremely annoyed at the mention of her mother, and that’s because she couldn’t care less about the irresponsible parent whom she hadn’t met in years. Even so, she chose to respect Gojo’s last wish and used the information he gave her to arrange a meeting. Nobara’s maternal grandmother raised her, who had some cursed energy, helping facilitate the meeting more easily.

Although Nobara comes to meet her mother in Jujutsu Kaisen, her attitude is really cold. Nobara’s been distant from her mother for a long time and it doesn’t appear she plans to make amends. Still, she respects Gojo’s wishes and talks with her. Compared to Nobara’s attitude, her mother has a soft smile on her face. She appears to be genuinely happy that her daughter is having fun despite living the brutal life of a sorcerer.

Jujutsu Kaisen Nobara Kugisaki

The Jujutsu Kaisen Epilogue Sheds Light on Nobara’s Relationship With Her Irresponsible Mother

Nobara’s mother was a sorcerer but she acknowledges she had no talent for it. However, Nobara refutes what she lacked wasn’t the talent of a sorcerer but a parent’s. Her mother thinks Nobara wants her to acknowledge her. She even goes as far as saying she hasn’t changed one bit and she’s having fun while seducing the rich, getting drunk, and running through young men.

Nobara again emphasizes that she doesn’t care about her mother and she’s only respecting the dead. However, Nobara also has another reason to see her mother – she thinks she will see something really fun. Just when her mother is confused, Nobara greets her grandmother, much to the former’s horror. Her grandmother is looking really scary and ready to scare her good-for-nothing daughter.

Not only did her daughter fail to raise Nobara, but she’s still living the irresponsible life she did when she was young. As such, the mother and daughter will have a long talk, while Nobara will relish in her mother’s misery. Despite her initial resistance, things turn out pretty well for her. Although she doesn’t make amends with her mother (which was impossible from the start), at least Nobara won’t have to live with such a painful loose end in Jujutsu Kaisen.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga includes a final epilogue in Volume 30 which will be released along with Volume 29 on December 25, 2024. The epilogue will center around Nobara Kugisaki, Yuko Ozawa, Panda, and Uraume, much to fans’ dismay. Nobara is one of the main trio of the series. Unfortunately, she gets sidelined from the story after her fight with Mahito. In Chapter 124, she suffers a fatal blow from Mahito. In the next few chapters, we briefly see glimpses of her past, and she says how she fun as a sorcerer. She knows she’s done for, so she bids farewell to Yuji.

However, Arata Nitta’s appearance in Chapter 127 leaves her fate unknown since he takes her for emergency treatment after stopping her bleeding. The series briefly mentions her only three times since then, each time hinting that she’s indeed gone. Even so, the possibility of her return was always there since no one specifically confirmed her death. She returns in Chapter 265 during the final stretch of the story and contributes to the battle against Sukuna. However, that’s not the end of her role. In Chapter 268, she reads Gojo’s last letter to her where he mentions her mother. This opens the door for her new goal, despite her reluctance.

Nobara Meets Her Mother In the Jujutsu Kaisen Final Epilogue

Gojo has always cared for his students and their happiness. Compared to Megumi or Yuji, JJK didn’t feature a lot of his interactions with Nobara. Still, he leaves behind a letter for her and Megumi. Those were the only ones he couldn’t meet for one last time so he entrusted Yuji to hand them the letters. Nobara was unconscious since the Shibuya Incident Arc and she only woke up 30 minutes before In Nobara’s letter, he tells her he tracked down her mother for her.

As the head of the Gojo Clan, he has a lot of connections. He can even track down Yuta’s bloodline, which no one in the Jujutsu world knew. So, finding the whereabouts of a former sorcerer is even easier for him. He goes through the trouble because he sincerely wishes Nobara to make amends with her mother. Gojo likely believes it will help Nobara move on from her rocky past. This is the first mention of her mother in the story, and Nobara is clearly unhappy about it. Her maternal grandmother raised her, so it’s easy to guess the mother and daughter have been estranged.

Much about Nobara’s past remains unknown. She only talks about her childhood friend Saori, who was only with her for a short period of time. However, the final epilogue shows Nobara meeting her mother. Nobara’s mother looks fashionable and carefree, somewhat resembling her daughter. She looks happy that her daughter came to meet her but Nobara quickly refutes it by saying it’s bad luck to ignore the wish of the dead.

Nobara’s family has always had cursed powers, but nothing strong enough to make them Jujutsu sorcerers. Although Nobara keeps claiming till the end that she doesn’t care about her mother, at least she’s able to untie the knot in her heart. We also see a brief glimpse of her grandmother’s scary face as the latter is ready to lecture the woman for abandoning her daughter.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga ending has been controversial because of several unanswered questions. The story concludes in Chapter 271, which isn’t necessarily bad, but it fails to explore some major plot points such as Yuji’s Domain Expansion, Sukuna’s past, and more. The manga will release its final Volumes 29 and 30 simultaneously on December 25, 2024. This release date is only for the Japanese version as the English copies will be released a few months later. It usually takes a while for a manga to get translated and licensed so it can be sold internationally.

Regardless, the Japanese version tells us a lot of details about the epilogue. The final pages center around Nobara, Yuko, Panda, and Uraume. The choice of characters isn’t what you’d expect from the final pages of the series, and it could be disappointing since we can’t see Gojo, Megumi, Yuta, or other popular characters for the last time in the story. However, Gege Akutami likely chose these characters because they’ve been neglected up till now because of the fast pacing. Panda’s epilogue in Jujutsu Kaisen tells us about the Gojo clan but it doesn’t answer one major question about Yuta Okkotsu.

Jujutsu Kaisen Panda
MAPPA

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Epilogue Doesn’t Reveal Yuta’s Wife

Panda’s epilogue takes place in the year 2080. Since he doesn’t have a human body, he can live on for decades, or even centuries. It’s kind of lonely when you think about how his friends grow old and die one by one while time stands still for him. In the epilogue, we find out he lost his independent control function in November 2018. In October 2035, he completely lost activity and was registered in Gojo family storage. Even so, he will show movements sometimes, proving he still has consciousness left. After Gojo’s death, Yuta took over as the acting head of the clan. He had more than enough skills to prove himself worthy of that position.

After the final battle, no sorcerer was remotely close to Yuta’s skills. He’s the only surviving special-grade sorcerer and he’s been called second only to Satoru Gojo. The epilogue doesn’t reveal if Yuta is alive. We see his grandchildren visiting Panda, while the latter thinks the kids are too loud. However, the major question is: Who is Yuta’s wife in Jujutsu Kaisen? Fans collectively agree it has to be Maki, and even see some sort of resemblance in the children. However, the author doesn’t specifically answer anything about his wife, leaving this question up for speculation.

Jujutsu Kaisen Yuta Maki
MAPPA

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 centers around Yuta’s struggles after losing his childhood love Rika Orimoto in a car accident. Unaware of his monstrous powers, he unintentionally curses her when he asks her not to leave him. Hence, Rika transforms into a special-grade apparition and sticks to Yuta’s side. Yuta later joins Jujutsu Tech High School thanks to Gojo, and learns to control his powers. He later finds out the cause behind the curse and swears to free Rika. The film shows his high-school life with Maki Zenin, Panda, and Toge Inumaki.

Panda notices the chemistry between Yuta and Maki and realizes the girl has a crush on Yuta. Aside from the movie, the two are often shown together in the manga, cover art, and even the official illustrations. This is probably why fans didn’t think the two would end up together. Unfortunately, nothing is set in stone until the author confirms it. Since it was an epilogue, there won’t be any extra content later so this Jujutsu Kaisen question may forever be unanswered.

Jujutsu Kaisen has now come to its complete end with the release of the manga’s final volume in Japan, and the creator behind it all has bid goodbye to the series with a rather heartbreaking final message to fans. Jujutsu Kaisen came to an end earlier this Fall, and it resulted in quite a divisive response from fans. The series seemed to end in a truncated way with many questions left unanswered, and that’s sort of been par for the course for a series that built up potential plot threads only to never follow them up later. It even seems like Akutami has been aware of these criticisms.

The release of Jujutsu Kaisen’s final volume in Japan came with a final goodbye message from series creator Gege Akutami (as noted by @Go_Jover on X) that continues the author’s self-deprecating style when speaking to fans. Openly addressing his mental state through the course of the series, the message to fans begins with such, “The product Jujutsu Kaisen was pissed out for nearly six and a half years, nearly seven years if you include the serialization of the special issues, and what I learned was ‘I really am an idiot…'” Teasing the heartbreaking nature of the message overall.

Shueisha

Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Says Goodbye to Fans

“I was, of course, pushing myself to the limits to pull out everything I could for my creations, and after about three years of serialization, my already rough personality began to become absentminded,” Akutami continued as the creator noted his mental state and struggles during serialization. “Even though I was complaining that ‘I’m fed up with having things pointed out to me that could be figured out by looking it up on the internet!!,’ I still made the mistake on Volume 18 with the sanpin, and ended up thinking like Gecko Moria that ‘well, if something happens, the people around me will figure it out…’ I’ve also been writing the openings for 6 and a half through 7 years through instincts.”

Thanking his editors for all their work with the series, Akutami opened up about his feelings of absentmindedness through serialization, “The reason I did not talk much in between the volumes was because I had become absentminded. When first becoming serialized, I took into consideration that Jujutsu Kaisen was being serialized in a major magazine, I had the feeling of trying to do my best to alleviate those who would read Jujutsu Kaisen and feel hurt, and those who would be hurt by those who read Jujutsu Kaisen.”

It’s through this sentiment that Akutami continues to be hard on himself. And he was fairly open about these continued struggles that he had in this final message, “The result of that was me telling myself, ‘Shut up! I get it, you just want to be seen as a good person!!’ and hurting myself. So I stopped trying that. To begin with, that very idea was prideful and I understand now that it was due to me lacking the conviction to put my created work out into the world.”

And gets even harsher as the message continues further too, “This is embarrassing, but even now, I do not fully have that conviction, when considering evil intent that doesn’t exist, I still want to shout out loudly, but the root cause of it is in my immaturity as a mangaka, so I hold it in…or rather, I continue on in a condition where all I can do is swallow it down.”

Shueisha

But at the end of the day, Akutami is glad to see that the work speaks for itself within Shonen Jump, “The good thing about Shonen Jump is that the brand image is built not around the creator but the created work. And so, by trusting myself, to make it so that readers can read my manga without worry, I will take the lessons of these seven years to heart, and I want to overcome my problems after this.” Teasing his future, Akutami is starting the learning process towards what’s next.

“I have books packed that I bought during serialization, some for study, some just to have around because they might make me smarter. In truth, I do feel they made me smarter just by having them around, even if I didn’t read them. It’s scary.” With a final goodbye to fans, Akutami states, “This is the end of the Jujutsu Kaisen that I have drawn. To everyone who supported me, to the people who it read it all at once when it became topical, to those who read it wanting to see what came after the anime, to the person who just happened to read the final volume. Any reason is fine. I truly thank you. Until we meet again.”

With Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen recently revealed at Jump Festa 2025, along with the Gojo’s Past Arc recap film, and a brand new series from the manga’s creator, Gege Akutami, you might be wanting to dive back into the past seasons. But, if streaming episodes isn’t your domain, you’ll be pleased by the latest addition to Jujutsu Kaisen’s physical media collection. The latest box sets assemble the Shibuya Incident Arc, considered by many to be the “peak” for JJK, and justifiably so.

Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the manga by Gege Akutami. Set in a world where curses prey on everyday people, a select few with Cursed Techniques (and a few without) fight curses to save mankind. But, after teenager Itadori Yuji swallows the immensely powerful cursed finger of Sakuna, he’s thrust into a battle between special-grade curses and Jujutsu sorcerers. JJK is one of the most popular ongoing anime series, and the new physical release is exactly what fans and collectors are craving.

Jujutsu Kaisen‘s Shibuya Incident Arc Gets the Blu-ray Treatment

Crunchyroll has finally announced the Blu-ray release of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2’s “Shibuya Incident Arc.” While the first five episodes of Season 2 covered the “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” arc, which delved back into Satoru Gojo’s past, the remainder brought Jujutsu Kaisen‘s bloodiest arc (so far) to life. The “Shibuya Incident” saw the special grade cursed spirits and the re-animated Suguru Geto attack Shibuya, and unleash a devastating plague of curses on the ward.

The Shibuya Incident Blu-ray will be released in North America on March 18, 2025, in time for fans to devour it before Season 3. As well as all the episodes depicting the arc, the Blu-ray edition also includes promo videos, a textless version of the opening theme song sequence, and end credits. It is available to pre-order from Crunchyroll for $56.24 (RRP $74.98).

Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Incident Gets Limited Edition Release

If you saw the Blu-ray release and thought, “That’s not enough,” then let us point your attention to the new Limited Edition “Shibuya Incident” release. As well as the episodes and the aforementioned special features, the Limited Edition version also comes with exclusive special features. The full list of special features includes:

  • 84-page Jujutsu News art book covering the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc and Shibuya Incident arc
  • 5 art cards from both arcs
  • 8 character portrait stickers
  • 2 character sticker sheets
  • Jet tag keyring

The Limited Edition disc set also releases on March 18 in North America and is available to pre-order from Crunchyroll for $74.99 (RRP ($99.98). As is the case with all Limited Edition releases, supplies are limited (so that’s where the name comes from!)

Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Incident Arc Itadori Yuji

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga reached its conclusion in Chapter 271, leaving fans with bittersweet feelings. It’s Gege Akutami’s first serialized manga, which gained massive global popularity after the anime adaptation in 2020. While fans wait for the anime’s third season, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga is all set to release its final volumes. Shueisha will release Volumes 29 and 30 simultaneously on December 25th, 2024. However, this release date is only for Japan as there has been no announcement regarding the global release dates. It usually takes a few months for most Japanese manga to get translated and licensed to be sold internationally.

Jujutsu Kaisen will have an extra 16-page epilogue in Volume 30, with new content for fans. The announcement of the epilogue was already made on the official X account of Jujutsu Kaisen, the information about the characters was revealed during Jump Festa 2025. The epilogue will center around Nobara, Yuko, Panda, and Uraume. As this roster features some of the least popular or most underutilized characters, it sparks criticism among fans since Akutami didn’t use this opportunity to show more about more in-demand fan favorites. While the choice of characters isn’t bad, it’s definitely less intriguing compared to learning more about Gojo, Yuji, Megumi, or other characters. It’s evident that the reason Akutami chose these characters was because they’ve been neglected for the majority of the story. Jujutsu Kaisen has a rather fast-paced story so it’s unfortunately common for the series to neglect more minor characters, so perhaps this epilogue stands to right that wrong.

Warning: Spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Ahead!

Jujutsu Kaisen Nobara Kugisaki
MAPPA

Nobara Kugisaki Wasn’t a Part of the Story for Four Years

Nobara’s controversial “death” and her return have been the highlight of the show. However, it also means she was out of the spotlight for years, despite being one of the members of the main trio. She suffers a fatal blow from Mahito in Chapter 124, which was released in October 2020. Her status remains unknown since then, with several hints implying that she really died. However, Chapter 265 marks her surprising return as she uses Resonance against Sukuna.

Needless to say, fans had already moved on from her in those four years. Nobara’s return is so late in the story that it doesn’t feel moving to have her back for a fleeting moment. She stays with Yuji and Megumi as things go back to normal. After the fight with Sukuna is over, she reads Gojo’s letter and learns he tracked down her mother who left her years ago. A lot of the things about Nobara remain unknown and it seems Akutami plans to delve deeper into it.

Jujutsu Kaisen Yuko Ozawa
MAPPA

Yuko Ozawa is a Minor Character With No Connection to the Jujutsu World

Yuko Ozawa only appears in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga for one chapter. She’s a non-sorcerer with no idea about the world of curses. In Chapter 64, she sees Nobara and Yuji going their separate ways after hanging out. She somehow catches up with Nobara and asks about Yuji. The girls sit in a cafe where Yuko reveals that she’s had a crush on Yuji since middle school. She used to get bullied for being chubby, but Yuji never looked at her with contempt. She’s now tall and attractive, finally having the confidence to meet with him.

She happens to be Yuji’s type, which Nobara and Megumi both realize. However, when she reunites with Yuji, she can’t muster up her courage and leaves after a brief encounter. That’s the extent of her role in the story. While she may have left some impression among fans, it definitely isn’t enough to compare her popularity with the more consequential Jujutsu Kaisen characters.

Jujutsu Kaisen Panda
MAPPA

Panda is Overshadowed by Other Impressive Characters

Panda is one of the second-year students and doesn’t have a lot of hype moments. His skills are ordinary and he’s just there without leaving a lasting impression. If there’s one thing that clearly stands out about him is that he’s a non-human sorcerer. He was created by Masamichi Yaga, the Principal of Jujutsu Tech High School, several years before the story’s events. The man raised Panda like his own son. Panda’s mediocre abilities weren’t enough to include him in the battle against the strongest. The fight against Sukuna lasts for over a year, with him being utterly overshadowed by the much more active participants in the battle.

Jujutsu Kaisen Uraume
MAPPA

Uraume Is the Most Neglected Villain in Jujutsu Kaisen

Uraume is tremendously strong but Akutami decides to keep everything about them under wraps till the end of the story. Their fight with Hakari was one of the most hyped fights in the series. Unfortunately, we only see glimpses of the battle while the story neglects the duo for months, only to focus on the sorcerers fighting Sukuna. In the end, we only see Uraume taking their life after Sukuna’s death.

The only memorable thing about Uraume is in the final chapter where we see their young version being comforted by Sukuna. It confirms that Uraume and Sukuna have a much deeper bond than we initially thought. However, even that heartwarming conclusion doesn’t change the fact that there’s barely anything of interest about the “Frozen Star.”

Jujutsu Kaisen Kenjaku Prison Realm
STUDIO MAPPA

Gege Akutami Could’ve Untied Some Knots in the Jujutsu Kaisen Epilogue

A lot of things in Jujutsu Kaisen were unanswered even after the ending. Kenjaku, who was one of the most important villains is one of the most mysterious characters. However, mysteries are meant to be solved. Since Akutami never revealed Kenjaku’s true form or backstory, it could’ve been a great addition to the final volume. Not only that but not showing Gojo’s funeral or his students visiting his grave feels like there are some missing pieces in his conclusion.

Fans would’ve loved to see all his students remembering him as they keep striving to create a better Jujutsu world. Even a Heian Era flashback could’ve satisfied fans’ curiosity since the manga never showed much about the so-called “Golden Age of Sorcery.” There are only a few days before the final volume release date. However, while it doesn’t seem interesting now for not including some of the fan-favorite characters. However, with the story yet to fully release, Gege Akutami might surprise us by including something of interest in this Jujutsu Kaisen epilogue.

Jujutsu Kaisen has announced that the manga will be returning in a special new way, and it’s going to provide a special epilogue set after the events of the manga’s original final chapter. Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended its run with Shuiesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine earlier this Fall, and the manga’s going all out for its final hurrah on shelves later this week. Hitting shelves in Japan with a double release of the manga’s final two volumes, Jujutsu Kaisen has some big plans in place for the grand finale. And it’s going to be hitting very soon with some brand new material.

As part of Jujutsu Kaisen’s announcements for the Jump Festa 2025 event, Jujutsu Kaisen has announced for some special plans with the releases of Volume 29 and 30 of the manga. Hitting shelves overseas beginning on December 25th, it was announced that Volume 30 of the series will actually be including some brand new pages not seen in the original release. These new pages will actually be a new epilogue story following a few characters after the original ending.

Shueisha

What’s New for Jujutsu Kaisen’s New Epilogue?

Along with other original art and sketches from original Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 30 will contain an extra 16 pages. These will be telling a brand new epilogue story after the final chapter that will be focusing on Nobara Kugisaki, Uraume, Panda and Yuko Ozawa. This certainly does seem like a random group to focus the new pages on after the original ending, but it does make a bit of sense as these characters also don’t really have a conclusive ending in the original series. In fact, that was kind of the issue with the original ending overall.

Unlike the rollout for My Hero Academia fans got to see this year, Jujutsu Kaisen‘s own ending was nowhere near as clean. The final chapters of the manga seemed to leave more questions than answers on the table when it all came to an end, and some of the later developments seemed to be brushed to the side in favor of what also seemed like a rushed through conclusion. But this epilogue has the chance to potentially turn all of this around as fans get one more look at how Gege Akutami wants to put a bow on everything.

Shueisha

How Will Jujutsu Kaisen Return?

This new epilogue doesn’t have much detail about what to expect to from its new pages, but Nobara Kugisaki, Uraume, Panda and Yuko Ozawa are an interesting group to highlight. There’s one major chapter just before the events of the Shibuya Incident arc that could be a hint at how this epilogue will play out. This chapter saw Nobara meeting up with Yuko, and finds out that Yuko had a crush on Yuji when the two of them were in school together. But given this is a series that doesn’t really focus on all of that, fans didn’t really get a conclusion on this matter.

This could be another visit between the two of them, this time after everything has happened. It could be opening up the door for Yuji to have a much different kind of ending than fans might have ever expected after seeing how the main series ended. If not, it’s at least calling attention to the fact that Yuji should have something else to fight for now outside of just being a general guardian for the Jujutsu world when everything is said and done. Yuji’s earned it after everything he’s been through.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended in September, but the franchise still has exciting surprises in store for fans. The anime will soon release a compilation movie of Gojo’s Past Arc, also known as Hidden Inventory/Premature Death Arc in the anime. The film will compile the first five episodes of Season 2. The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen also shared its first teaser key visual. However, the release window and trailer will be revealed at a later date. Additionally, the manga’s final two volumes, 29 and 30, will be released simultaneously on December 25th, 2025. The volumes will cover the manga from Chapters 255 to 271.

However, Gege Akutami will include a 16-page epilogue in Volume 30 revolving around Nobara Kugisaki, Panda, Yuko Ozawa, and Uraume. While the announcement of the epilogue was already made on the official X account of Jujutsu Kaisen, the information about the characters was revealed during Jump Festa 2025. Nobara was moved from the limelight after suffering a fatal blow from Mahito and only returned in the story during the final stretch of the fight against Sukuna. Additionally, the story hasn’t been able to focus much on Panda, Yuko, and Uraume as they are minor characters.

What Happens in the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Finale?

The battle against the King of Curses takes an unexpected turn after the appearance of new allies. As the sorcerers keep falling during the battle one after another, Miguel and Larue join the fight at the behest of Gojo. However, despite fighting countless opponents at once, Sukuna still stands strong. He’s confident enough to kill every sorcerer who challenges him. Despite his arrogance, Yuji has a few tricks up his sleeve that will ensure Megumi’s safety.

As the fight between Yuji and Sukuna continues, he reunites with one of his dear friends. The manga ends in Chapter 271, concluding the greatest fight in Jujutsu history. The battle against the King of Curses was long and hard, and sorcerers will now have to reset the rotten Jujutsu society. It’s up to the younger generation to fulfill Gojo’s dream of fixing this broken world.

Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular anime and manga series of recent times. While the manga has reached its conclusion in September 2024, the anime has exciting projects lined up for fans. Season 3 is currently under production, and it finally reveals its first look in the teaser key visual. The third season will adapt Itadori’s Extermination, Perfect Preparation, and the highly-anticipated Culling Game Arcs. We will follow Yuji and his friends as they deal with the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident.

However, before the third season, fans will experience the beloved Gojo’s Past Arc in the theatres. The movie compiles the first five episodes of the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen as we follow Gojo in his high school years. The anime calls it the “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death Arc. The announcement was made during Jump Festa 2025 with a key visual. The film will hit Japanese theatres on May 30th, 2025. It has yet to announce a global release date, but we can expect an announcement sometime around the Japanese release date.

What Happens in Gojo’s Past Arc of Jujutsu Kaisen?

The arc takes us back to 12 years ago, when Gojo was a second-year high school student at Jujutsu Tech High School. He and Geto are the only special-grade sorcerers around and are considered the “strongest duo.” Despite their usual bickering, the two have absolute faith in each other’s abilities. Gojo comes from the distinguished Gojo Clan and is the inheritor of the Six Eyes. Master Tengen, an immortal jujutsu sorcerer who protects Jujutsu High locations by reinforcing their barriers, requests them to protect Riko Amanai, a Star Vessel.

Every five hundred years or so, a Star Vessel is born who can merge with Master Tengen and help them maintain their immortality. However, Riko has a bounty on her head as some organizations are against the merger that will make Tengen “impure.” Hence, it’s up to Gojo and Geto to ensure Riko gets to Tengen in one piece. However, things go awry when the Sorcerer Killer sets his eyes on the enormous bounty.

The creators also share messages with fans during the event, including JJK creator Gege Akutami. The anime will soon release its Season 3 as the event shares the first look at the Culling Game.

While the teaser hasn’t been released yet, we see a beautiful new visual featuring Yuji. The third season will also likely adapt Itadori’s Extermination and Perfect Preparation Arcs from the manga. These two arcs are short, but they feature the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident. The manga reached its conclusion in September 2024, and it appears Akutami already has his mind set on a new project. Akutami previously wished to work on an idol manga even before Jujutsu Kaisen. JJK is his first serialized manga, and its popularity reached great heights.

Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Gege Akutami’s Comment in Jump Festa 2025

The author shares, “Thank you all for reading Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s thanks to your support that I was able to make it to the end of this marathon..”

He also talks about the anime, “For those of you thinking, ‘Dude, we’re only here for the anime. Don’t worry! The anime shall continue! The director, Goshozono is incredible. Every time I look over his storyboards, it makes me think, ‘Holy crap, maybe Jujutsu Kaisen is pretty cool.’ I’m self-deprecating, so to make me think that is an impressive feat.”

Akutami continues to praise the director, “Goshozono’s talent extends far beyond the framework of the series, and I can’t wait for you all to see how fortunate we are to have the production trusted to him.”

Finally, he says, “Once again, I’d like to thank you for your support of Jujutsu Kaisen these seven years. I hope to pay you all back as I prepare for my next challenge.

Jujutsu Kaisen Hidden Inventory Premature Death compilation film

Jujutsu Kaisen is now in the works on Season 3 of the anime, and now fans have gotten a much better idea of what to expect from the new season. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 wrapped up its run late last year with the tease that Yuji Itadori’s battles were far from done after the Shibuya Incident, and it was quickly confirmed to be the case when Season 3 was confirmed to be in the works not long after. But it’s been some time since we have gotten an update on the new season now in the works, and thankfully the wait will soon be over.

As one of Shueisha’s many announcements during Jump Festa 2025, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 has dropped a tiny glimpse at what to expect from the harrowing next steps of its story. It’s going to be one of the most intense seasons of the anime to date (which can be hard to believe considering everything that went down in Season 2), and continues to be one of the most anticipated anime returns in the near future. As a bonus for fans, the compiled Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arcs will be released as an omnibus film in Japan on May 30th, 2025. You can check out the new look at Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 with the stunning Culling Game poster below.

What to Know for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

Now in the works for a release in the near future, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will be tackling the Culling Game arc from Gege Akutami’s original manga series. This arc takes place immediately after the chaos of the Shibuya Incident, and as teased by the Season 2 finale, will be throwing Yuji and Megumi Fushiguro into a wild new fight. The Culling Game is part of Kenjaku’s grand plan for Jujutsu society as it creates a whole new crop of sorcerers who are activating their various powers for the first real time. But there are even more wrinkles introduced during this arc.

The Culling Game arc brings in many new faces that will be thrown into a highly competitive and very deadly tournament. Sorcerers, ancient spirits, and more will be clashing in the new season, and Yuji won’t be the only one at the center of the action this time around. After making his return to the anime at the tail end of the second season, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 protagonist Yuta Okkotsu will also be playing a big role in what’s to come in this new wave of episodes.

TOHO Animation

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Could Be a Game-Changer for the Anime

Gege Akutami officially brought Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga run to an end with Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine earlier this year, so there will be more fans keeping an eye on the anime than ever. With a clear path to the conclusion, this means the anime will have a clear runway in what it’s going to tackle. Now the anime team knows which are the biggest moments within the arc as they connect to everything else that happens later, so it could mean that we’re set for some even more impressive moments than everything that happened in Season 2.

There are some huge fights with wacky powers, and some characters that we’ll get to see in action for the first real time within this coming arc as well. As Jujutsu Kaisen readies for its return to screens in full with Season 3, there’s a chance that it’s going to be even more of a runaway success than what was ever seen with the second season. It’s been a highly anticipated new release for a reason, and it won’t be long before anime fans get to see why.

Jujutsu Kaisen Yuji Itadori

Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga reached its bittersweet conclusion in September 2024. The story begins with Sukuna’s incarnation and ends with his defeat, completing one cycle of the never-ending battle. With Sukuna’s defeat and the Jujutsu world starting anew, it’s up to the new generation of sorcerers to set things right. Despite the seemingly rushed ending, the conclusion wasn’t all bad. Nobara returns during the final fight against Sukuna and Megumi is safe. Yuji carries on Gojo’s legacy as he remembers his final words. Even Sukuna, the proud and conceited King of Curses in Jujutsu Kaisen, accepts his fate and wishes to do things differently if he had a second chance.

While the ending leaves us with several unanswered questions, Yuji’s Domain Expansion has to be the most important one. We know about the Domain Expansions of several sorcerers but not the main character. Yuji uses it against the main villain in the final fight and yet, we don’t see how it works. In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 265, the manga features different scenarios where Yuji tells Sukuna about his childhood. However, there’s still no clarification about it, even after the ending. All we know is that he gained it after awakening the Shrine technique. But is it a complete domain or an incomplete one? How does it work? What’s its name? We will never find out the answers to these questions.

Shueisha

Yuji’s Unnamed Domain Expansion Represents His Growth as a Sorcerer

Domain Expansion is the pinnacle of Jujutsu sorcery. Only those with exceptional talent can hone their skills and master this ultimate technique. Even powerful sorcerers like Suguru Geto, Hajime Kashimo, Aoi Todo, and Kento Nanami never achieved this level. However, Yuji gains this ability during training before the fight between Gojo and Sukuna. Since swallowing the King of Curses’ first finger, fans have witnessed Yuji’s growth one step at a time. The progress is slow, but he perseveres as he constantly questions his purpose and the value of his life.

But when it comes to watching him use the best technique in the series, we don’t get a satisfactory answer. A Domain Expansion isn’t merely a power-up; it can often reflect a sorcerer’s identity, beliefs, and inner world. For example, Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine reflects his godlike arrogance. The shrine echoes his self-image as a deity as he is destructive and death-bringing, as depicted by the skulls hanging on the shrine.

jujutsu kaisen season 3
MAPPA

Throughout the series, Yuji struggles with his sense of identity, so giving him a proper domain could be a great conclusion to his character growth. Gege Akutami may have intentionally chosen to leave it out to focus on other aspects of the story. However, as the main character, not explaining his Domain Expansion makes his conclusion seem incomplete. But we will never find out the answer unless Gege plans a Jujutsu Kaisen sequel, which isn’t likely as of now.

The globally popular Jujutsu Kaisen manga reached its conclusion in September 2024. The ending portrays significant character developments as it leaves fans with bittersweet and mixed emotions. The third season of the anime is currently under production. It will adapt the Culling Game Arc, where we will see the aftermath of the brutal Shibuya Incident. Yuji and the sorcerers can’t catch a break as a new threat looms over their heads. Although there won’t be any new manga chapters in the future, Jujutsu Kaisen fans can read Empyreal Cabinet, a new spellcaster manga from Shonen Jump+.

In 2022, Fumiji Yuba released an 82-page one-shot, Kuga Masamune no Junan, in Shonen Jump+. It follows Kuniga Masamune, a technical staff member at the Special Disaster Research Laboratory of the Imperial Capital University Disaster Prevention Research Institute. In 2024, Jump+ serialized Empyreal Cabinet, an action fantasy built on the themes explored in the one shot. It’s the creator’s first serialized work that blends historical themes with modern storytelling. However, several themes in the manga give JJK vibes, which fans will surely notice.

Empyreal Cabinet by Fumiji Yuba
Fumiji Yuba / Shueisha

What Is the Plot of Empyreal Cabinet?

The manga follows Toya Tatsumori, a 6th Class Spellcaster employed by the Empyreal Cabinet‘s Ministry of Shrines. The story is set in a surreal, almost dream-like scenario where the line between reality and illusion is often blurred. The cabinet has the power to alter reality and serves as the gateway to different realms. Toya stumbles upon it by accident and finds himself in the middle of bizarre events as he tries to understand the cabinet’s powers. He also meets a few people who seek the cabinet for personal gain.

Jujutsu Kaisen and Empyreal Cabinet Share Subtle Similarities

While the similarities don’t always pop out, there are subtle similarities since the two share deep narratives and complex power systems. Both series have supernatural forces that threaten humanity. The protagonists struggle with a sense of identity and their inner demons. Secret organizations manage supernatural threats, but each is layered with hidden truths and dark secrets. The battles in both series center around strategies and resourcefulness. The Empyreal Cabinet manga features battles that require characters to navigate complex powers, limitations, and psychological warfare. Both their worlds are brutal, as we see the characters displaying moral ambiguity.

However, unlike Jujutsu Kaisen, which has light-hearted moments sprinkled throughout the series, Empyreal Cabinet has a heavier tone. The manga was initially released on a weekly schedule. However, after three chapters, it shifted to a monthly schedule and currently has six chapters, with the seventh set for a January 9th, 2025 release. The story is still taking shape, but the initial chapters have set the stage quite well. Empyreal Cabinet has dark themes like Jujutsu Kaisen, and the art is absolutely ethereal. The visuals are expansive, with otherworldly settings. JJK fans who enjoy dynamic fights and complex themes will definitely love this new manga if they haven’t checked it out already.

Jujutsu Kaisen Satoru Gojo

While the Jujutsu Kaisen manga reached its conclusion in September, the anime still has a long way to go. The third season was confirmed as soon as JJK wrapped up its Shibuya Incident Arc. Season 2 has been a roller coaster of emotions with Gojo’s backstory and the most intense arc in the story so far. The Shibuya Incident Arc features a set of tragic incidents, with things going downhill as soon as Kenjaku succeeds in trapping Gojo in the Prison Realm.

Gojo is the only one capable of fighting Kenjaku and the disaster curses. The other sorcerers jump into the battle as soon as he’s out of the picture. The story gets darker with the Shibuya Incident Arc, and it’s clear Yuji and his friends have more difficult challenges ahead. The franchise will share new information about the upcoming season in Jump Festa 2025. While it will surely be a thrilling ride, fans may be disappointed if they’re hoping to see Gojo just yet in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3.

STUDIO MAPPA

Satoru Gojo Will Not Be a Part of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

One of Kenjaku’s primary goals in the Shibuya Incident was to seal Gojo before the battle commenced. He succeeds through meticulous planning, and getting Gojo out of the cursed object will be a challenge. Yuji and the others head straight to help Gojo, but they get caught up in the battle. Unfortunately, Kenjaku disappears with the Prison Realm by the end of the arc.

The second season ends with Yuta’s appearance, who swears to kill Yuji. Yuta is the main character of the prequel movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, released in 2021, a few months after the first season was concluded. He makes his debut in the main story after the end of the chaotic battle. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will adapt two arcs before commencing the Culling Game – Itadori Extermination and Perfect Preparation.

Although the Shibuya Incident Arc ends in Chapter 136, the anime adapts Chapter 137, the first chapter of the Itadori Extermination Arc. With 63 total chapters, Culling Game is the longest arc of the series. Gojo will likely stay trapped for the entirety of Season 3. However, fans can expect to see him in the opening and ending themes and a brief canon flashback. At best, viewers may hope for a tease of him around the season finale.

What Should Fans Expect From Season 3?

The third season will begin with the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident. Yuji is struggling emotionally after being indirectly responsible for so many deaths in Shibuya. The Itadori Extermination Arc will reveal Yuta’s genius plan to save Yuji Itadori. Additionally, the Perfect Preparation Arc will cover the political struggles in the JJK world. The Zenin Clan’s atrocious actions will force Maki to take a drastic and brutal step.

The Culling Game will be a battle royale orchestrated by Kenjaku. He has revived several ancient sorcerers and awakened new sorcerers to participate in the game. The deathly battle will include over 1000 players; however, Kenjaku’s true goal will be achieved after the battle royale ends. Amid all the chaos, Sukuna has his own plans that center around Megumi. Despite Gojo being absent, fans will easily find plenty to enjoy in Jujutsu Kaisen season 3.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3!

When Does Gojo Get Unsealed?

Gojo gets unsealed in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 221, concluding the Culling Game Arc. It takes the students about twenty days to find a way to unseal him. It couldn’t have been easy since they kept facing off one threat after another. The battle of the strongest effectively begins by the end of Chapter 222.

Therefore, Gojo will most likely return in the fourth season, where he will fight the epic battle against the King of Curses. However, we can’t rule out the possibility that the fight might be adapted into a movie. The entire battle is covered in 15 chapters, just the right amount of chapters for a well-paced film.

Gojo Is the Most Beloved Character of Jujutsu Kaisen

Gojo has always been among the most popular characters, ranking in the top 3 of the official JJK popularity polls. However, his popularity skyrocketed in 2020 with Season 1 and again when the anime released Hidden Inventory/Premature Death Arc. While the anime was ongoing, JJK manga also featured the battle of the strongest. The series gained massive attention from fans worldwide. 2024 was the series most successful year. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 received 11 awards in the Crunchyroll. As soon as the manga concluded, Jujutsu Kaisen was confirmed to have over 100 million copies in circulation.

Even after the unthinkable happens in Chapter 236, fans kept coming up with desperate theories. Sadly, the author had something else planned entirely. However, that still didn’t diminish his popularity, or even JJK’s, for that matter. Gojo topped the fourth and final popularity poll with an overwhelming number. With a whopping 113k votes, he surpasses Yuji, the second-place holder with 48k votes. He remains one of the most popular characters of recent times in shonen manga. So, it’s not surprising fans will miss their beloved character in the upcoming season.

Jujutsu Kaisen Gojo Satoru Juju Stroll

As we all wait patiently for Jujutsu Kaisen‘s third season to adapt the “Culling Game” arc, many fans are digging back into the archives, re-watching the past two seasons (and Jujutsu Kaisen 0), or finally getting around to reading the recently finished manga by Gege Akutami. There’s a lot to love about Jujutsu Kaisen, from the deeply written characters to the phenomenal action scenes, incredible OSTs, and the occasional moment of terrifying horror. But, arguably, the best part of JJK is also the silliest, and it might not even be canon.

Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori, who, after swallowing the cursed object, Sukuna’s Finger, is sentenced to death by the higher-ups at Jujutsu High. With enough strength to control the evil spirit within him, Itadori is temporarily spared. Along with his classmates, Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki, and the charismatic upperclassman, Satoru Gojo, he must hunt down the remaining fingers to destroy Sukuna once and for all. The manga and anime are absolutely brutal, and (especially in Season 2) no one is safe. This is why the often ridiculous “Juju Stroll” post-credit scenes shine so brightly.

Jujutsu Kaisen Juju Stroll Episode 7
MAPPA

Why Juju Stroll Is So Important to Jujutsu Kaisen

In Season 1, each episode (no matter how dark) was capped off with a “Juju Stroll” animated short. After the credits, a sketch of Sukuna in a hot spring appeared with the title card before a whimsical sketch played out. The sketches ranged from the evil cursed spirits playing soccer to Gojo giving Nanami a phallic paper note, instructions on how to build a coat rack from a human skeleton, and dumpling recipes. The “Juju Stroll” shorts are insignificant to the show’s overarching plot. But, they enhance the relationships between the Jujutsu High classmen, enrich the world-building, and give us a deeper understanding of the characters we’re rooting for (and against).

Thanks to the ongoing battle to keep curses at bay, audiences don’t see much of Itadori, Megumi, and Kugisaki’s time as normal classmates. Their friendship is strengthened on the battlefield. But what happens when the fighting stops, and they become regular civilians? One of the best “Juju Strolls” depicts Megumi being “hit on” by a woman, which causes Itadori, Kugisaki, and Gojo to sprint toward him in a hilarious attempt to embarrass their friend. At the same time, Gojo puts on his own moves. The moment is foolish, but that’s why it enhances their on-screen chemistry.

The most impactful “Juju Stroll” comes at the end of Episode 13, titled “Tomorrow.” While Itadori trains with Gojo, his classmates don’t know he’s still alive. Megumi, Kugisaki, Maki, Toge, and Panda eat a bowl of Itadori’s favorite dumplings. Megumi explains the recipe to his friends before Kugisaki proclaims them to be “Itadori’s legacy.” While the audience knows Itadori is alive, the scene builds upon the grief felt by his classmates and heightens Gojo’s grey morality before Season 2 blows it wide open.

Jujutsu Kaisen Juju Stroll
MAPPA

Is Juju Stroll Canon?

The nature of “Juju Stroll’s” place in the wider Jujutsu Kaisen canon is a strong topic of contention among the fan base. In Gege Akutami’s manga, the segments aren’t officially labeled “Juju Stroll,” as that was an invention for the anime adaptation. Each chapter closed with a short slice-of-life style segment. Much like in the anime, each short acted as a palette cleanser after the horrifyingly morbid panels before.

Some argue that the slice-of-life nature of the segments excludes them from the wider canon. Some fans will argue that because the title and stories differ from those in the manga, that is another reason to exclude them from canon. Additionally, while Jujutsu Kaisen is filled with wacky moments, it is hard to be scared of a villain when we’ve just seen his head used as a ball in an impromptu game of beach soccer.

However, while the Juju Stroll stories might differ from the chapter closers found in the manga, they are still from the mind of Gege Akutami. The manga artist crafted brand-new storyboards for the post-credit scenes of MAPPA’s anime adaptation. These were then transformed into the “Juju Stroll” segment.

Fans are still waiting for a release date for Season 3. MAPPA has confirmed the new season, and the manga’s brutal “Culling Game” arc will be adapted. Updates are expected at this year’s Jump Festa, which takes place on December 21st and 22nd.

Nanami Kento overlayed over the War For the Rohirrim

The Lord of the Rings franchise has had a long, rich history and has indisputably influenced the very foundation that modern fantasy is built on. Having branched to almost every medium in the entertainment industry, Lord of the Rings is finally making its way to anime with the brand-new feature film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, a prequel set during the reign of Helm Hammerhand. The movie is set to finally release in theaters on December 13th, and reviews are starting to come out.

Among them is none other than the legendary voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda, perhaps best known for his role as Nanami Kento in Jujutsu Kaisen. During a special event for the film hosted by LiLiCo in Japan, the production team talked about the upcoming release. Kenjiro Tsuda was in attendance and shared his thoughts regarding the film, saying:  “It’s full of the goodness of the classics, but we who live in the modern age can also empathize with it.”

He continued, stating that the film incorporates modern commentaries about the expectations put on women in society and the roles they’re so often forced into against their will because of it, as well as poignant political commentary that The Lord of the Rings franchise has never been shy about exploring.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim

The War of the Rohirrim Promises a Stunning Prequel & a Gut-Wrenching Fantasy

While The War of the Rohirrim is exciting purely for the fact that the film promises to expunge more details about the reign of Helm Hammerhand and his children, it also seems to want to deliver a deeply impactful political fantasy telling the grim tale of the effects of war on a nation. The film follows Héra, Helm’s previously unnamed daughter as she steps into a domineering role to defend her people against the Dunlendings. Gaia Wise, who voices Héra, has said previously that the character’s vibe is similar to that of one of Hayao Miyazaki’s female leads. If Kenji Tsuda’s review is accurate, then it seems as though The War of the Rohirrim won’t only deliver intense fantasy action but also explore a deep array of human emotions and relationships.

The animation studio in charge of producing the film, Sola Entertainment, has worked on a handful of other series in the past, including Tower of God, Rick and Morty: The Anime, and the upcoming anime adaptation of Rooster Fighter. Still, The War of the Rohirrim is their lengthiest and most complicated project. The team handling the project, especially the film’s director, Kenji Kamiyama, all seem ecstatic to contribute to the classic franchise. They are anxious for longtime fans of The Lord of the Rings around the globe to finally experience everything they’ve been working on following the film’s original announcement.

Following the dramatic ending to Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen, fans are desperately awaiting the third season. The only problem is that it doesn’t have a release date. Season 3 will adapt the “Culling Game” arc (Chapters 159-221). The final episode of Season 2 saw Shibuya overrun by curses as the surviving Jujutsu Sorcerers desperately fought for survival, with Gojo locked away in the Prison Realm. The finale also sowed a new conflict between fan-favorite characters Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu.

Aside from confirmation that Season 3 is happening, fans know very little about Jujutsu Kaisen‘s return. The delays are presumed to result from Studio MAPPA’s ongoing work on the Chainsaw Man movie. It’s not all bleak, though, as this year’s Jump Festa is expected to bring with it a major update for Jujutsu Kaisen.

With no official release date for Jujutsu Kaisen season 3, fans are left eagerly awaiting updates. A brief teaser was released in December 2023, but no further details have been revealed. Though not officially confirmed, it has been speculated that the delay in season 3’s release could be due to Studio MAPPA’s focus on producing the highly anticipated Chainsaw Man movie. As a result, the studio’s workload might leave fans waiting for a release date confirmation of Jujutsu Kaisen season 3.

While anime-only viewers are in suspense, manga readers know that the upcoming Culling Game arc will significantly heighten the danger for the jujutsu sorcerers. This intense battle royale, spanning Chapters 159-221 in the manga, introduces deadly consequences and increases the stakes for everyone involved, from the characters to the world itself. As the sorcerers fight for survival, the arc sets the stage for the most difficult and high-stakes conflicts yet in Jujutsu Kaisen, with far-reaching implications for the story.

Kenjaku Discusses the Culling Game After the Shibuya Incident

After the Shibuya Incident arc in Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuki Tsukumo, a powerful jujutsu sorcerer, faces off with Kenjaku, a villainous cursed sorcerer who has manipulated cursed energy throughout history. Kenjaku seeks to transcend the boundaries between sorcerers and cursed spirits, pushing the world’s relationship with cursed energy into a new and darker direction.

Kenjaku’s first attempt at transcending humanity’s relationship with cursed energy, the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings, involved creating cursed beings like Choso and his brothers. However, the plan ultimately failed, as the Death Paintings did not reach the potential Kenjaku had hoped for. Adapting his approach, he then initiated the Culling Game.

What Exactly is the Culling Game?

The Culling Game is a brutal and complex event in Jujutsu Kaisen that involves participants, mostly sorcerers and non-sorcerers who have awakened cursed techniques, being forced into deadly battles. The ultimate goal is to create massive amounts of cursed energy, which Kenjaku plans to use in a ritual that merges the people of Japan with the powerful sorcerer, Master Tengen, in order to evolve humanity.

The Culling Game has several key rules, including the requirement that participants must declare their involvement within 19 days of awakening their cursed technique or face death by having their cursed technique removed. Players score points by killing others, with sorcerers worth five points and non-sorcerers worth one point. The game is designed to continue until a player either dies or reaches a set point, with players potentially altering the rules if they earn enough points.

Impact on Characters and Jujutsu Kaisen’s Dark Future

This game directly impacts characters like Yuji Itadori, Yuta Okkotsu, Megumi Fushiguro, and Tsumiki Fushiguro. They are all involved in the deadly event, with Tsumiki being forced to participate after being awakened. The game’s deadly nature forces the characters to make difficult decisions, pushing them to face the moral and physical challenges of survival. It is also a significant threat to all sorcerers, as failure to kill within 19 days could result in death.

The Culling Game is a brutal event that pushes characters to their moral limits. Kenjaku, through manipulation and long-term planning, seeks to merge Japan’s residents with cursed energy, believing this transformation is necessary for evolution. His ultimate goal is to create a new form of humanity where the boundaries between humans and cursed spirits are blurred. With Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen approaching, the Culling Game will bring severe consequences for the characters, leading to irreversible changes in the world of jujutsu sorcery. Fans can expect a season full of emotional, heart-wrenching moments that explore themes of morality, survival, and sacrifice.

December is a good month to be an anime fan. In addition to the incredible slate of currently releasing shows, like Dandadan and Dragon Ball DAIMA, the end of the year could also bring a tidal wave of updates for the biggest modern anime. Jump Festa 2025, the annual anime and manga convention in Tokyo, is rumored to deliver massive updates for Dragon Ball, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, SPY X FAMILY, My Hero Acadamia, and Kaiju No. 8, and so many more.

The nature of each panel hasn’t been revealed. But, it is widely speculated that the aforementioned shows (and more) will receive major announcements for their respective next seasons/movies. The big hitters of this year’s event are undoubtedly the One Piece remake, Chainsaw Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Titled The One Piece, the new remake was announced at last year’s Jump Festa, and is being developed by Netflix and Wit Studio. So far, fans have only seen concept art for the new show, and are hoping to get their hands on something more substantial. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is a stand-in for Season 2. As popular as the first season was, fans were frustrated when it only ran for 12 episodes. The Reze Arc movie is adding to that frustration, but the upcoming panel should reveal whether the wait is worth it. The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most hotly anticipated shows, especially following the devastating “Shibuya Incident Arc” from Season 2, which culled many popular characters.

Jump Festa 2025 Line-Up

In chronological order from December 21, Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Season 3 of Spy X Family, and Dragon Ball Super are all expected or anticipated to receive major updates and/or reveals. On Sunday, December 22, expect massive reveals for Season 8 of My Hero Academia, the Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, Season 5 of Blue Exorcist, Season 2 of Kaiju No. 8, and The One Piece remake. If that wasn’t enough, fans also speculate that Demon Slayer‘s Infinity Castle movie, Season 2 of Dandadan, a new Gintama spin-off, Season 2 of Dr. Stone, and Season 2 of Hell’s Paradise could also be announced over the weekend.

Jump Festa will be available to stream on Shonen Jump Group’s official YouTube channel, “Jump Channel.” The full schedule can be found on Jump Festa’s official website. To say Jump Festa 2025’s panel slate is stacked is a severe understatement. Chainsaw Man, Kaiju No.8, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and SPY X FAMILY are possibly the most popular modern anime around. An announcement for any one of them is a good day for anime fans. All of them getting major updates is Christmas come early.

Jujutsu Kaisen Pop Mart blind box figurines

Just in time for the holiday season, Pop Mart has collaborated with one of the most popular anime on the market to create what could be the perfect gift for the nerd or anime fan in your life. The figurine company just announced a partnership with none other than Jujutsu Kaisen to produce more than a dozen figurines based on characters in the series as part of a new blind box collection.

For the uninitiated, blind box figurines are on the smaller side of figurines – measuring at around three inches in height – and it’s not clear what figure is inside until it’s opened. Depending on the collector, these boxes might be opened instantly to see what they hold inside or they may never open them at all to maintain the mystery. They’re currently listed on Pop Mart’s Jujutsu Kaisen Uniform Series Figures online with the option to be notified when they’re available for online purchase, but can be found in-store at select retailers in your area.

POP MART’s Jujutsu Kaisen Figurine Details

The figures in the Jujutsu Kaisen Pop Mart figurines measure 6.7-7.8 cm/2.6/3.1 inches in height and can be purchased individually for $16.99 or $203.88 for the whole set as of this writing. For anyone considering buying the entire set off the website, it’s guaranteed that Pop Mart will replace a regular edition duplicate you may get to complete the collection.

The twelve figures in the main set include characters like Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Gojo, and many other fan favorites. However, there’s a special catch for the serious collectors or JJK fans out there. The collection includes a secret figurine of Ryomen Sukuna; however, there’s only a 1/144 chance of getting it, compared to an equal 1/12 chance for all of the rest. Given that you can’t see what’s in the boxes until you open them, anyone could be lucky enough to get their hands on one.

If you’re interested in any other figures, we recently published a list of the newest figures available this month. Examples of what’s coming out include figures from Marvel, Dragon Ball, The Lord of the Rings, and more.

Why JJK’s ending makes this a perfect holiday gift

Jujutsu Kaisen is a manga series created by Gege Akutami that focuses on a secret world of sorcerors who fight against dark spirits that inhabit the earth and intend to do harm. Yuji Itadori, a local teenager, becomes the vessel for Ryomen Sukuna, one of history’s most dangerous cursed objects. With the help of his fellow Jujutsu sorcerers, Yuji helps protect the world from evil while trying to manage the evil that exists inside him.

Jujutsu Kaisen ended this past September after a six-year run in Weekly Shonen Jump. This means that fans are probably right at the point where they’re starting to feel nostalgic for the story after coming to terms with the series’ ending.

Jujutsu Kaisen and Regular Show make a wildly good pair as revealed in a surprising crossover imagining how Mordecai and Rigby would face off against Sukuna. As Regular Show is now in the works on a brand new series, the Cartoon Network original is now back in the minds of fans as it’s a good time to remember all of the shenanigans that Mordecai and Rigby were up to on a weekly basis. The two of them often took on major deities and all powerful beings just so they could get back to work, and it got to such a point where it became second nature for them to risk their lives on any given occasion.

Funny enough, this is also what makes it a perfect fit with Jujutsu Kaisen. Yuji Itadori and the other Jujutsu Sorcerers live in a world where they put their lives on the line every single day, and rarely have the time to rest or relax that Mordecai and Rigby are always seeking. But it’d be a lot different if the two of them had been fighting Sukuna instead as demonstrated by artist @darentseta on X, as Mordecai and Rigby make quick work of the King of Curses by using the full power afforded from their Death Punchies techniques. A lot more lives would have been saved, for sure. Check it out:

What’s Next for Jujutsu Kaisen?

Jujutsu Kaisen is now in the works on returning for Season 3 of the anime in the near future. Announced following the end of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 last year, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 has yet to announce a potential release window or date as of the time of this publication. With everything that happened to Japan during the second season of the series, the TV anime is only going to get more intense as Yuji and the others really have fewer options and allies heading into a string of even bigger fights.

What has been confirmed for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 so far is that it will be adapting the Culling Game arc from Gege Akutami’s original manga series. This arc continues all of the chaos that was seen during the Shibuya Incident arc with a deadly new tournament that introduces a new wave of fighters. These will include sorcerers in the present day who get their powers from the Shibuya Incident, and sorcerers and curses who were revived from ancient times to try and make a comeback. It really is just pure chaos.

TOHO Animation / Cartoon Network

What’s Next for Regular Show?

Regular Show might have ended its original run with Cartoon Network some time ago, but the franchise is far from over. It’s also going to be continuing with a new project as Warner Bros. Discovery has announced their plans to bring back Regular Show for a new series. It has yet to be fully revealed what this new show will look like, or when it will be releasing, but original series creator J.G. Quintel is returning for this next take on the franchise.

The new series is reportedly a sequel titled Regular Show Lost Tapes, which would tie into the original series’ finale. It instead implies that it’s going to be a series showing off more of Mordecai and Rigby’s adventures in the park before the time skip finale. But as of the time of this publication, nothing concrete has been revealed about the new Regular Show series yet outside of the fact that it’s currently in the midst of production.

Jujutsu Kaisen ended its critically acclaimed manga earlier this year, creating a controversial finale for many fans that have been following Gege Akutami’s work for decades. Despite this fact, the impact left by the supernatural shonen series is one that won’t soon be forgotten. Case in point, Yuji Itadori and his fellow classmates are preparing to be a part of a new partnership with a restaurant in Japan that teams up the biggest sorcerers with real world culinary items. If you’re looking to revisit the world of Jujutsu Tech, the restaurant known as Gindaco is creating some wild new edibles that pay tribute to the shonen franchise.

This new union with Gindaco is far from the only time that Jujutsu Tech has partnered with a restaurant chain. Earlier this year, Jujutsu Kaisen united with McDonald’s in a way that didn’t create new Happy Meals but did create new edibles paying tribute to the supernatural world. As a part of this past promotion, McDonald’s brought “Special Grade Garlic Sauce” to the United States for the first time, with each of the packets modeled after the biggest anime heroes and villains that sprang from the mind of creator Gege Akutami. While McDonald’s hasn’t hinted at another partnership with Jujutsu Tech, it goes to show how big the shonen franchise has become.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Takoyaki Fusion

If you’re unfamiliar with the restaurant Gindaco, the chain is one that only exists in Japan. The fast food chain is one that specializes in “Takoyaki,” aka a Japanese street food that creates ball-shaped edibles that can be filled with quite a few different ingredients. Typically, a key ingredient is octopus in the street food though there are options for those who want to avoid chowing down on the eight-limbed sea creatures.

Gindaco has revealed that the new partnership has already begun in Japan, touting the menu items that will feature the main characters of the Hidden Inventory Arc. Here’s how the restaurant chain breaks down the official collab, “Gindaco × TV anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” Today is the second collaboration takoyaki. Release date of “Japanese style soy sauce yuzu tartar” Don’t miss the special sleeves and collaboration cards.”

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Anime Future

On top of most likely receiving more partnerships in the future, despite its manga conclusion, Jujutsu Tech still has a bright anime future ahead of it. Quickly following the second season finale and the end of the Shibuya Incident Arc, Studio MAPPA confirmed that a third season was in the works. Thanks to the actions taken by the villainous Suguru Geto, a new storyline is in the works in The Culling Game. Now that Yuji Itadori is on the run due to Sukuna’s reign of destruction, a familiar face from Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta Okkotsu, is hot on the protagonist’s trail.

While the shonen manga has ended, this doesn’t mean that season three will be the grand finale for the television series. Based on what is still left to come to adapt, it makes sense that Jujutsu Kaisen would wrap its storyline with a fourth and final season. While the Shibuya Incident Arc took the world by storm, anime fans should start prepping themselves for some of the wildest and weirdest battles in the series history. Whenever Jujutsu Kaisen’s anime does end, it will be one of the record books if it follows the manga to the letter.

Unfortunately, the banning of manga is becoming a more common occurrence in school districts around North America. While we here at ComicBook.com have reported on titles such as Assassination Classroom being banned in South Carolina schools and Scholastic banning the manga Unico, a Tennessee school district has released quite the list of manga that will no longer be available for students in the Rutherford school district. Declared banned on November 11th earlier this month, the list actually includes quite a few shonen titles, making for quite the departure from many other recent bans.

The reason as to why the books were banned overall, according to a supporter of the measure, was that the manga included “pornographic material.” On top of this description, the school board also made mention of the ban relating to any material “containing nudity, describes or depicts sexual excitement, sexual conduct, excess violence, or sadomasochistic abuse.” While this ban included Assassination Classroom, it also saw the shonen series, Fire Force, taking some heat. Along with Wilson County Schools, Rutherford put quite a few books in review to be banned from schools.

RELATED: New Manga Ban in the U.S. Puts Heat on Assassination Classroom

The Manga Ban

When it comes to Wilson County Schools in Tennessee, the school board has banned around four hundred titles from availability. The list of banned manga titles under review include:

  • Jujutsu Kaisen
  • Case Closed
  • JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
  • Bungo Stray Dogs
  • Fist of The North Star
  • My Hero Academia: Vigilantes
  • Vampire Knight
  • Parasyte
  • Rosario+
  • Attack on Titan
  • Tokyo Ghoul
  • The Promised Neverland
  • Blue Exorcist
  • Durarara
  • Bloom Intro You
  • Soul Eater
  • Akira
  • The Seven Deadly Sins
  • Inuyasha
  • Black Butler
  • Hunter x Hunter
  • Alice 19th
  • Air Gear

Following the banning of the aforementioned manga series, Rutherford School Board member, Caleb Tidwell, released the following statement, “Once awareness of the content in question was raised to the community, the vast majority of attendees at our meetings were in support of removal. Those community members who supported removal come from multiple backgrounds, churches, schools, and yet, arrived at the same conclusion – this content breaks the law. Specifically, it’s common sense and legal. Attempts to hide behind fear of a lawsuit to keep sexually explicit books in schools, an educationally focused setting, shows a poor understanding of the law or deflection of duty. It is offensive to suggest keeping sexually explicit books in school libraries has no damaging effect on minors and that these fictional books have educational value that supersedes its sexual exposure.”

MAPPA

The Free Speech Center Responds

Following the banned book announcement in Tennessee, Free Speech Center Director Ken Paulson released a statement regarding the ban. “Never in the history of America has the Supreme Court or any federal court concluded that a book was obscene because it had excessive violence, and the books banned in Rutherford County are not porn. And the notion that they are somehow written to capture the same audience as something like Hustler magazine is nonsense.”

At present, the school board will have around sixty days time to review if the books in question should be permanently removed. It is possible that some of the manga could make a comeback to the Tennessee school districts but we’ll be sure to keep you posted here at ComicBook.com when it comes to the upcoming decision and how it might affect the manga world overall.

Anime is only growing with each passing year as the advance of technology and the options for readers to enjoy some of their favorite titles only becomes easier. While Japan remains the starting point for manga and anime alike, North America and countries all over the world are helping to boost numbers for countless manga series. In a new report from Oricon, an outlet that specializes in sales reports, it has been revealed which manga titles have hit the top of the charts for 2024 so far. With only one month remaining in the year, things might change, though the top ten as of now might be fairly set in stone minus any big fluctuations in the final hour.

While manga has always had a hold in the “physical world”, offering printed publications that fans can order at their leisure, apps and the internet have helped to introduce countless new fans to stories that they might otherwise never hop into. For example, Viz Media has routinely been releasing new chapters for some of their biggest properties as titles like Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Chainsaw Man, One Piece, and more offer weekly releases. Shueisha isn’t the only company that is offering freebies for manga enthusiasts however as publishers such as Kodansha, Yen Press, and more do the same. Manga might have been considered niche in years past, but the anime world is becoming more main stream with each passing year.

Manga’s Biggest Titles For 2024

It might not come as a surprise to learn that Jujutsu Kaisen has once again taken the top spot, especially considering what took place this year. Creator Gege Akutami ended the story of Yuji Itadori and his fellow students at Jujutsu Tech, giving the supernatural shonen series a major shot in the arm when it comes to overall sales. While One Piece will seemingly always be a mainstay in the manga world, netting the second spot for top sales in 2024, the series that introduced us to to Satoru Gojo cannot be stopped. You can check out the top ten selling manga below:

1. Jujutsu Kaisen – 7,610,995
2. One Piece – 5,250,210
3. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End – 4,988,170
4. The Apothecary Diaries – 4,723,562
5. Blue Lock – 3,881,269
6. Kaiju No. 8 – 3,398,326
7. Kingdom – 3,234,204
8. Haikyuu!! – 3,077,085
9. My Hero Academia – 2,943,985
10. Spy x Family – 2,662,408

A Big Year For Endings

On top of Jujutsu Kaisen releasing its final chapter, My Hero Academia also brought its story to a close, though this wasn’t enough seemingly to place Deku and company in the top five. What makes this all the more surprising is that Haikyu, a series that came to an end in 2020, is still hitting the top ten years following its conclusion. This of course is most likely thanks to the release of the first of its final two films, Haikyu: The Dumpster Battle, which took the Japanese box office by storm.

Readers might also be surprised to see the likes of The Apothecary Diaries and Kingdom on the list, and while these have a strong fanbase in the West, these properties are far more popular in Eastern countries. With 2025 set to introduce fans to new anime series like Sakomoto Days, it will be interesting to see what the top ten list looks like when we swing back around in three hundred and sixty five days.

Disney+ just unveiled the first teaser for Bullet/Bullet, a new original anime from Jujutsu Kaisen director Sung Hoo Park. The footage was unveiled at Disney’s 2024 APAC Content Showcase in Singapore. Unlike Jujutsu Kaisen (Sung Hoo Park’s biggest anime hit), Bullet/Bullet is not based on any pre-existing manga series. The footage also unveiled the show’s release window. Bullet/Bullet will stream exclusively on Disney+ in Summer 2025.

Sung Hoo Park has reportedly spent a decade writing the story for Bullet/Bullet. However, plot details still remain a secret. The footage has teased some of what fans can expect from the new show. The teaser showcases a young boy drifting around the streets of a rocky city in a modified muscle car. The footage also jumps between a car race in the desert, and a woman with an arm-mounted rocket launcher. The trailer also promises “high octane, action entertainment.” As well as the first teaser, Disney has also released the first official poster for the series. Check it out below:

Bullet/Bullet feels heavily inspired by George Miller’s Mad Max saga, with the city car chases giving off Akira vibes. The title, and the mystery protagonist’s car of choice also call back to the 1968 Steve McQueen classic, Bullitt, in which he drives a Ford Mustang.

Sung Hoo Park is directing the series, with Park’s own E&H Production and GAGA producing. Takahiro Yohimatsu (Hunter x Hunter & Overlord) is serving as the chief animation director, and is designing the characters. Space Battleship Yamato‘s Hidetaka Tenjin is the show’s concept and mechanical designer, while Shin Masiwa (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) is directing the show’s various car action scenes.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Is Still a Mystery

Bullet/Bullet will have to keep Jujutsu Kaisen fans satiated while we wait for the eagerly anticipated third season. Season 2, which adapted the “Hidden Inventory,” “Premature Death,” and “Shibuya Incident” arcs, finished airing in December 2023. Since then, fans have been in the dark about the third season.

All we know so far is that Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is happening. MAPPA studios will be overseeing the third season. Although, no official release window has been announced. Fans were initially expecting a 2025 release. But, given there have been no updates so far, Season 3 could come out as late as 2026. This is partly due to the sheer number of projects MAPPA are working on. New seasons of Chainsaw Man, Vinland Saga, Hell’s Paradise, and Shinichirō Watanabe’s mysterious new Lazarus are all currently in development.

The delays are also likely due to MAPPA’s reported mistreatment of their animation staff. Earlier this year, animators and producers outed the studio for unfair working conditions, which included excessive time crunches, and frequent overnight shifts. MAPPA have reportedly undergone a management overhaul. While the working conditions were not addressed in the report, it is believed the overhaul came as a result of the shocking accusations from former and current employees.

Creator Gege Akutami might have ended their beloved supernatural shonen series, Jujutsu Kaisen, earlier this year, but the story of Yuji Itadori won’t soon be forgotten. With Studio MAPPA’s anime adaptation already confirmed for a third season, Jujutsu Tech’s tale still has a long way to go on the screen before it hits its final battle. Throughout the years, we’ve reported on the fact that Suguru Geto has long been the most popular character of the series, routinely and easily winning any popularity contest presented to anime fans. Now, that popularity has once again shined in one of the funniest ways as a newscast blooper out of Japan shows just how much one host loves Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and their relationship.

When Jujutsu Kaisen first began its story, Gojo and Geto weren’t exactly seeing eye-to-eye, in fact, they were ready to murder one another. While the pair were best buddies earlier in their lives when they both became students of Jujutsu Tech, things shifted astronomically during the Hidden Inventory Arc. Thanks to these two sorcerers being the strongest students at the supernatural university, they were sent on quite a few deadly missions that impacted their respective characters. While Gojo would go on to become a teacher at the school, Geto took a very different path.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The Geto x Gojo Relationship

Like many other “ships” in the anime fandom, Gojo and Geto never were never in a romantic couple but that fact hasn’t stopped countless artists and enthusiasts from imagining that they were. Hilariously, in a recent Japanese newscast, one reporter was caught looking at some wild images on her phone that never took place in the official Jujutsu Kaisen series. Even with the changes that Geto underwent thanks to the events of the prequel film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, the former friends remained bitter enemies and the anime’s recent Shibuya Incident Arc proved just that.

As seen in the Shibuya Incident Arc, the current “Geto” isn’t quite who many imagined, including Gojo. Thanks to revealing his identity to the blindfold wearing powerhouse, Geto was able to take Gojo by surprise and lock him within the Prison Realm. Locked away from the world at large, everything fell apart and then some when it comes to Shibuya and the world of Jujutsu Tech. Now that Satoru Gojo isn’t around, the villains have more than taken advantage of this fact and have set up a wild third season for the MAPPA produced anime.

Jujutsu Kaisen: A Jujutsu Tech Future

Without venturing into spoiler territory, Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga ending is one surrounded by controversy for many fans. Several readers found themselves struggling to accept the final chapter focusing on Yuji Itadori and those that survived the final battle of the supernatural shonen series. Controversial as the ending was, it didn’t impact the influence that the series has on the anime world at large.

While a third season has been confirmed by Studio MAPPA, covering the storyline known as the Culling Game, it would make sense that Jujutsu Kaisen would also eventually receive a fourth. Based on the overall structure of the manga, it’s entirely possible that the fourth season would be the supernatural shonen’s last if it follows the printed story to the letter. Should the anime continue following the manga, don’t expect Geto and Gojo to rekindle their friendship with one another.

Jujutsu Kaisen officially came to an end earlier this Fall, and the cover art for the final two volumes of the series ever are putting Yuji and Sukuna front and center one last time. Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen shockingly came to an end with Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine earlier this Fall, and fans are still reeling from everything that happened in the final battle against Sukuna. After a countdown revealed there were only five chapters left in the series to go, Yuji was able to bring the long fight against Sukuna to an end after many deaths and significant losses over the course of the Shinjuku Showdown arc.

Now that Jujutsu Kaisen‘s manga run is complete, the final two volumes of the series will be hitting shelves across Japan beginning on December 25th this year. Volumes 29 and 30 collect the final few chapters of the series, and are highlighting the main duo at the center of it all. Volume 29 gives Sukuna the spotlight as he was the primary focus of everything that happened towards the end of the Shinjuku Showdown, and Volume 30 puts the spotlight back on Yuji to help bring the series full circle after all these years. Check out the cover art for Jujutsu Kaisen Volumes 29 and 30 below as released by Shueisha.

Does Jujutsu Kaisen Have a Good Ending?

Jujutsu Kaisen wrapped up its run earlier this Fall, and it left fans feeling like something was missing as it all came to an end. While the final fight against Sukuna was a rather lengthy one spanning across an entire arc of its own, it just had fans feeling like there was still more story to explore before the final came to an end. There were lots of characters who lost their lives along the way, and many more were introduced in the interim to fill the gaps left by those losses.

It meant that by the time the series came to an end, it felt like there were lots of loose threads left over that series creator Gege Akutami didn’t seem like he wanted to explore in any real depth. There was a tease of something bigger potentially on the horizon, but it was soon folded into Sukuna’s threat. So while Sukuna seemed like the final villain from the very beginning, it just seemed odd that he actually became the final villain without any real detours from it.

Jujutsu Kaisen Still Isn’t Over Yet

Jujutsu Kaisen‘s manga might have come to an end, but it’s still far from the end of the franchise overall. The anime is now in the works for a return with the highly anticipated third season, but it has yet to be announced when these new episodes will hit. What has been confirmed for the third season, however, is that they will be adapting the Culling Game arc from the original manga. This kicks off yet another series of fights with all sorts of new faces.

The final few arcs of Jujutsu Kaisen are just long strings of fights that ebb and flow as the series eventually comes to an end, and that means that the anime is going to be firing off on all cylinders before it eventually ends as well. But with the anime’s future locked in, fans of the manga can reread their favorite moments with either Shueisha’s MangaPlus service or Viz Media’s digital Shonen Jump library to get a refresher on how everything ended for Jujutsu Kaisen‘s characters.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s manga might have ended earlier this year, but the anime adaptation still has some major moments to bring to life in its future. Following the traumatic, and awe inspiring, events of the Shibuya Incident Arc, the world of Jujutsu Tech is a very different place, thanks in no small part to the return of the cursed king known as Sukuna. While the supernatural shonen series has introduced its fair share of villains in its time, Sukuna has stood above the rest as being the most powerful, and most evil, of the collection. Now, one fan animator has brought one of Sukuna’s biggest battles to life long before the anime adaptation has had the chance to do so.

Warning. If you have been avoiding spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen’s endgame, be forewarned that this article and the video discussed will hint at the grand finale of the beloved shonen series. It should come as no surprise that Sukuna was the final villain of the series, considering the problems that the king of the curses has caused in his existence. During the fight against Sukuna, many heroes lost their lives in an attempt to bring him down following the antagonist’s move to swap bodies from Yuji Itadori to Megumi Fushiguro. In the many conflicts that arose from Sukuna’s final fight, Yuji and Todo taking on the villain was one of the best.

MAPPA

Sukuna Vs. The Best Friendos

Yuji and Todo might not have started as best friends, as the two fought one another in the anime’s first season but they quickly learned to rely on one another during a fight. Todo’s power known as “Boogie Woogie” is one that allows the sorcerer to swap himself, others, and objects with anything else when he claps his hands. During the Shibuya Incident Arc, Todo loss the use of one of his hands in the fight against Mahito but that hasn’t kept the fan-favorite character down and anime viewers should prepare to see a lot more of the idol-loving hero in the upcoming third season.

As MAPPA’s anime adaptation continues to follow the source material, fans probably shouldn’t expect the fight depicted below to take place during season three. Most likely, the fight featuring Yuji, Todo, and Sukuna will take place in a fourth season down the line. It seems likely that the fourth season will act as the supernatural series’ last.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The End of The Beginning

While the manga might be over, Jujutsu Kaisen still has some big moments to bring to life in its anime. Following the success of the first two seasons, Studio MAPPA wasted little time in confirming that a third season was in the works. Season three of the shonen series will focus on the Culling Game, a brand new arc that directly spins out of the plan put into motion by series villain Suguru Geto. Thanks to what took place in Shibuya, the heroes are in a far worse place than ever before in the series’ history.

Yuji Itadori is now on the run as Jujutsu Tech wants nothing more than to kill the shonen protagonist to eliminate Sukuna in the process. Unfortunately, the supernatural school has found the perfect man for the job in Yuta Okkotsu, the protagonist of the first prequel film. While Studio MAPPA has yet to confirm a release window for season three, it will take the anime world by storm once Jujutsu Kaisen returns to the small screen.

jujutsu kaisen season 3

Jujutsu Kaisen is considered a masterpiece by some despite having just two seasons to its name. When Gege Akutami put the series to page, the creator had no idea the kind of following Jujutsu Kaisen would amass, and it is hard to fault him. The series is one of the biggest in anime, and all eyes are now trained on its upcoming third season. But as that wait grows longer, one team of fans decided to take Jujutsu Kaisen into its own hands, and the results are nothing short of impressive.

The whole thing comes courtesy of Galactic Republic Studio, a non-profit animation studio that deals in anime. From Naruto to original works, Galactic Republic Studio has worked on a slew of shorts, but its latest is like nothing we’ve seen yet. After all, a crew of fans came together to assemble a short of Jujutsu Kaisen season three, and we are obsessed.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Gets a Perfect Fan-Anime

The clip, which can be found here, brings Jujutsu Kaisen to life with a clear vision. It begins with a bold fish-eye angle as we watch Fake Geto travel Tokyo. As the clip moves forward, we are given a preview of what’s coming in Jujutsu Kaisen season three. From Yuji’s isolation to the debut of Hiromi Higurama, everything is laid out. We are also given little peeks at other characters on the horizon, and Kinji Hakari is an easy one to spot.

As the fan-anime carries on, we see more of Yuji as the boy is reeling from the Shibuya Incident. Yuta appears before him at one point to battle, and of course, this scene brings about fighters like Choso. The entire gang appears in this short at some point, and we have director mohsinzuka to thank. The animator worked with a team of fans to create an epic sizzle reel, and it took hard work to make. From coloring directors to character designers, this fan-anime courted a robust team, and it proves just how dedicated fans of Jujutsu Kaisen are.

When Will Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Be Released?

After all, it is fans who are keeping Jujutsu Kaisen alive right now. The conversation around the series peaked this fall, and we had the manga’s final to thank. Akutami brought the best-selling manga to a close rather abruptly, leaving fans to speculate about guys like Gojo and Sukuna. In the finale’s wake, Jujutsu Kaisen has kept a low profile, and we still have no word on season three.

We do know Jujutsu Kaisen is working on season three, but that is about all we know. Studio MAPPA, the company that produces the anime, announced season three at the end of 2023. We know the new season will cover the Culling Game arc, so some big moves are on the horizon for Team Gojo. At this time, no release window has been given for the anime, but fans are hopeful a 2025 premiere is possible. We will hopefully learn more about Jujutsu Kaisen season three at Jump Festa 2025 as it will start this December.

In the meantime, fans like those at Galactic Republic Studio are keeping Jujutsu Kaisen alive online. The Shonen Jump series has a lot of hype backing it, but even the most epic stories die without support. Jujutsu Kaisen has that love in spades, so here’s to hoping we get an anime update ASAP.
